As part of the Summer 2023 Parking Lot Renewal project, the three parking lots surrounding Reser Stadium will be closed in phases, starting on Wednesday, July 19 and ending Saturday, July 22. The project will be completed in four phases, with each closure lasting one day. See schedule and map below.

Wednesday, July 19 – Valley Football Center Lot (NW section between SW 30th St. and SW Ralph Miller Lane)

Thursday, July 20 – Reser Stadium Lot (south section bordering SW Western Blvd.)

Friday, July 21 – LaSells Stewart West Lot (section SE of the stadium between SW Western Blvd. and SW 26th St.)

Saturday, July 22 – Valley Football Center Lot (west section in front of Samaritan Athletic Medicine Center)

As part of the LaSells Stewart Center Mechanical & Roof Renewal Project, a section of SW Stadium Ave. located directly behind The LaSells Stewart Center and just south of Bloss Hall will be closed to allow for crane activity on Tuesday, July 18 from 7 A.M. to 2 P.M. The B2 parking lot east of The LaSells Stewart Center will also be closed. The entrance to SW Stadium Ave. from SW Western Blvd. will be closed. Both the east and west sidewalks on Stadium Ave. directly behind The LaSells Stewart Center will be closed. A vehicle detour will be available from Western Blvd. along the east and north side of the LaSells Stewart Center East parking lot.

The steam will be shut down in Sackett Hall, Austin Hall and Learning Innovation Center on July 24th, 6:00 am – 1:00 pm to inspect steam and condensate leaks. This will affect all steam services, includes heat & hot water building wide.

As part of the Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts project, there will be a planned power outage impacting Tebeau Hall and the Heat Plant on Saturday, July 15 from 7 A.M. to 12 P.M.

What do you need to do to prepare for this outage? Please make sure that all computers, printers, copiers and other electronic devices are turned off prior to Saturday, July 15. If you have an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), also known as a battery back-up, please be sure to turn it off as well.

Employees scheduled to work when buildings are without power should consult with their supervisors regarding work schedules. For more information regarding work scheduling, please refer to the instructions regarding Interruptions of University Operations.

As part of the Kelly District Utility Plant project, a section of SW 26th St. will be closed at the intersection with NW Orchard Ave. to allow for crane activity on Tuesday, July 18, from 6:30 – 10:00 A.M. The east sidewalk along 26th St. will be closed between the Park Terrace St. West parking lot entrance and Johnson Hall. The walkway along the north side of Johnson Hall will also be closed.

The intersection at 26th St. and Orchard Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic, but the crosswalk and the west sidewalk along 26th St. will remain open for pedestrians. Drivers should expect to see flaggers in the area.

The 26th St. entrance to the Park Terrace St. West lot (A2) near the Ocean Administration Building will be closed, but the parking lot will remain accessible from SW Park Terrace Place.

Other possible impacts include noise near the work site.

As part of the Student Legacy Park Resurfacing project, a pick-up truck and trailer will temporarily block the northbound lane on SW Benton Place, directly in front of the McAlexander Fieldhouse main entrance, on Thursday, July 13 & Friday, July 14 for various short intervals throughout both days. The truck will be picking up materials from McAlexander Fieldhouse and each pick-up will take approximately 30 minutes for loading.

Additionally, the loading zone and double doors on the south end of McAlexander Fieldhouse will be occupied during this project. Access to the batting cage door will be maintained. The west sidewalk along Benton Place and the crosswalk in front of McAlexander Fieldhouse will remain open for pedestrians. The southbound lane will remain open for vehicles.

As part of the Kerr South Parking lot project, the east entrance of the Kerr Administration Building will be closed from Monday, July 10 – Friday, July 14. The south entrance and ADA ramp may be accessed via the west side walkway around the back of the building.  

The current closure impacting the western sidewalk on SW 15th Street (east of the building) will be extended through Friday, July 14.
