As part of the ongoing waterline replacement project conducted by the city of Corvallis, construction work will continue on SW 35th St. during the week of May 5 – 9. Please see below details and impacts.
Work will be continuing on SW 35th St., north of SW Sagebrush Dr.
SW 35th St. will remain closed to through traffic between Western Blvd. and Washington Way.
Local access to the Western Building parking lot and SW Sagebrush Dr. will be maintained during this closure.
Every effort will be made to keep the Beaver Bus stop at the Western Building open. If detours or bus stop changes occur, they will be posted on the Beaver Bus Route Changes page.
Changes to city bus stops will be posted at the physical location and will be noted on the city’s website.
On-street bike travel will not be permitted through the work zone. Alternate bicycle routes could include SW Sagebrush Dr., SW 30th St. or SW 26th St.
Sidewalks in the area will remain open.

The city waterline project is ahead of schedule and progressing north on SW 35th St. Please see the information below for changes in effect for Wednesday afternoon and Thursday.
OSU Western Building parking lot
The south parking lot entrance is now open. This will be the entrance/exit while waterline construction has the north entrance closed.
Waterline installation will keep the north entrance closed for remainder of Wednesday, 4/30 and part of the day on Thursday, 5/1.
Please approach the Western Building parking lot from SW Western Blvd. There will no longer be access to this parking lot from the north on SW 35th St.
Pedestrians should plan to use the east sidewalk on 35th St. to detour around the construction zone.
Please read carefully – closures will begin on 4/28 and continue throughout the week. Local access to the Western Building parking lot will be maintained. The Beaver Bus stop on SW 35th St. will be closed intermittently. See information and schedule below.
Pipeline installation will be occurring in the SW 35th/Western intersection and then moving north into SW 35th St. over the course of the week. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained. Bus stops may be impacted, please see schedule below.
Monday and Tuesday
The north side of the SW 35th/Western intersection will be closed. East/west traffic on Western Blvd. will be permitted. SW 35th St. will be open south of Western Blvd. Flaggers may be directing traffic at times.
Vehicles traveling south on SW 35th St. may access the Western Building parking lot and Sagebrush Dr. No vehicles will be permitted traveling north from Western Blvd.
The Beaver Bus stop on SW 35th St. at the Western Building will remain open.
Wednesday
Pipe installation progresses north on SW 35th St. up to the southern driveway to the Western Building.
The Western Building parking lot will remain open. Drivers should plan to approach the Western Building from the north on SW 35th St.
Intermittent closures of the Western Building driveways may occur. The intent is to keep at least one access point to the parking lot available at all times.
Thursday
The south driveway to the Western Building will be closed. The north driveway to the Western Building will remain open.
The north driveway to the Western Building will be closed. The south driveway to the Western Building will remain open. Drivers should plan to approach the parking lot from the south on SW 35th St. while work is occurring north of the lot.
Detours
Local access to the Western Building and Sagebrush Dr. will be maintained per the schedule above. Through traffic may detour around the area using SW Western Blvd., SW 15th St. and NW Harrison Blvd.
Bicycles
On-street bike traffic will not be permitted through the work zones in this area. Bicyclists may detour around the area via Sagebrush Drive, SW 30th St. or SW 26th St.
Pedestrians
The sidewalks on SW 35th St. will remain open, except for the NE corner of the Western/SW 35th St. intersection. Pedestrians traveling east-west on Western Blvd. should plan to use the south sidewalk as a detour.
CTS stops

This is an update on a water pipeline and road improvement project led by the city of Corvallis. Work is expected to continue through September 2025. Impacts for the week of April 14th – 18th
Traffic on Western Blvd. between West Hills Rd. and SW 35th St. will be limited to a single lane and controlled by flaggers. All lanes will reopen at the end of each workday.
The signal at SW 35th St. and Western Blvd. will be shut down and become a four-way stop. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic. The intersection will remain open in all directions. The signal will be restored at the end of each workday.
Bike lanes will be closed and bikes will ride with traffic.
The sidewalk on the north side of Western Blvd. will be closed. Pedestrians traveling on Western Blvd. between 30th and 35th St. may detour around the area using the south sidewalk.
Access to local driveways will be maintained and signage will be posted to keep the Western Building driveways clear while the intersection signal is shut down.
Please note: a full closure of the SW 35th St./Western Blvd. intersection is scheduled to start on April 28th. Details regarding this closure will be available in the next update.
Convergint will be conducting annual fire alarm & sprinkler testing. Testing will take place in the buildings listed below. The testing will be brief and include both sounding of alarms and strobes. As part of the testing, building occupants may notice occasional beeping coming from the fire panel and horns and strobe lights activating throughout the building. Signage will be posted on exterior doors while testing is being conducted.

As part of the Campus Operations building project, the Western Building parking lot will be fully closed for paving. Paving work is scheduled to start on Thursday, April 15 through Sunday, April 18, 2021. If you are planning to come to the Western Building on these days, you will need to park in another parking lot. If you have fleet vehicles in the Western Building lot, they will need to be moved by end of day on Wednesday, April 14, 2021.
