As part of the Washington Way Improvement project, Washington Way between 17th – 26th streets and 30th – 35th streets will be closed starting January 3rd, 2023. The north-south intersection at Washington Way and 26th St. will remain open.

17th – 26th Street: CLOSED 1/3/23 – 1/5/23

30th – 35th Street: CLOSED 1/3/23 – 1/20/23

Expected impacts include noise, dust and mud near the construction site.

As part of the Washington Way Improvement project, Washington Way between 17th– 35th Streets will be closed for water line installation/testing and paving (weather permitting). Work is expected to begin immediately and continue in phases through the end of January 2023.

Please refer to the schedule below for exact dates and locations:

12/27 & 12/28: Full closure of Washington Way from 26th – 30th Streets, the 30th St. intersection (all directions) & from 30th – 35th Streets.

12/29: Full closure of Washington Way between 17th – 26th Streets.

Note: flagged intersection at 26th St. will allow north-south traffic to pass

12/29/22 – 01/31/23: Full closure of Washington Way between 30th – 35th Streets for water line installation.

Pacific Power will be decommissioning obsolete equipment located in Dearborn hall on Saturday, January 7th from 6 am-9 am. Power will be shut down to the following buildings while this work is being performed, Gilkey Hall, Gleeson Hall, Gilbert Addition, Dearborn Hall, Rogers Hall, Community Hall, and Milne Computer Center. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.

As part of the Graf Hall Renovation project, a crane will be placed in the Graf parking lot within the fenced construction area. Because the crane will remain within the established construction site, any additional impacts to campus residents, visitors and the surrounding neighborhood are expected to be minimal.

New Effective Date: Monday, December 19th, 2022 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Due to weather conditions and employee training needs at the asphalt plant, the closure of Washington Way between 17th & 26th Street planned for Friday, December 16th has been postponed until Monday, December 19th from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
