As part of the Jen-Hsun & Lori Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex project, the intersection at SW 26th Street and NW Orchard Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic on Friday, January 5 to allow for construction activity.
The north-south crosswalk on Orchard Ave. will be closed for pedestrians. The sidewalks in the area will remain open, except for a section of sidewalk on the east side of the intersection, directly in front of Johnson Hall. The loading dock north of Johnson Hall will be closed except for pre-arranged deliveries.
Bike lanes in the area will be closed.

As part of work for the Kelley District Utility Plant project and the Jen-Hsun and Lori Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex, Johnson Hall will be CLOSED on January 3, 2024 for construction-related activities. Water service to the building will shut off from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM and electrical service to the building will be shut off from 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM. There will be no access to the building on January 3 to ensure safety.

Generator back up standby power to Johnson Hall will be shut down on January 3rd, 2024, from 7 a.m. – 9 a.m. This will affect all standby electrical and generator backed electrical.
What do you need to do to prepare for this outage? Please make sure that all computers, printers, copiers, and other electronic devices are turned off prior to 1/2/24. If you have an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), also known as a battery backup, please be sure to turn it off as well. The building will not have network connectivity during this power outage, i.e. no wireless, wired internet or VoIP phone connectivity. Anything that relies on the network will not be functional.

As part of the Jen-Hsun & Lori Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex project, a section of the west sidewalk along SW Park Terrace Place will be permanently closed to allow for ongoing construction activities. The closure will begin Thursday, November 30. The impacted sidewalk section is located just north of Johnson Hall. This will be a permanent closure as the area undergoes construction related to the Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex.
The east sidewalk will be open for pedestrians. Other possible impacts include noise, dust and mud near the work site.

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, the steam system will be shut down in Johnson Hall on Friday, November 17 and Saturday, November 18 to allow for steam piping repairs in the mechanical room. This shutdown will impact the entire building. The building will experience temperature fluctuations and hot water will be unavailable during the shutdown. The building will be monitored while the steam system is offline for any potential issues.

As part of the Kelley Engineering District Utility Plant project, the air conditioning system will be shut down in Kelley Engineering Center and Johnson Hall from Friday, August 11 through Wednesday, August 30.

As part of the Kelly District Utility Plant project, a section of SW 26th St. will be closed at the intersection with NW Orchard Ave. to allow for crane activity on Tuesday, July 18, from 6:30 – 10:00 A.M. The east sidewalk along 26th St. will be closed between the Park Terrace St. West parking lot entrance and Johnson Hall. The walkway along the north side of Johnson Hall will also be closed.
The intersection at 26th St. and Orchard Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic, but the crosswalk and the west sidewalk along 26th St. will remain open for pedestrians. Drivers should expect to see flaggers in the area.
The 26th St. entrance to the Park Terrace St. West lot (A2) near the Ocean Administration Building will be closed, but the parking lot will remain accessible from SW Park Terrace Place.
Other possible impacts include noise near the work site.

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, the chilled water cooling system will be temporarily shut down in Kelley Engineering Center and Johnson Hall on Thursday, July 6 from 5 A.M. to 1 P.M to allow for piping work. The chilled water system controls the air conditioning in the impacted buildings.
The buildings will experience higher than normal temperatures, but the server rooms will not be impacted by this shutdown. ADA access will be maintained during this project.
