As part of the testing building occupants may notice occasional beeping coming from the fire panel and horns and strobe lights activating throughout the building. The City of Corvallis has informed OSU that the buildings listed above will be without water while they work to make emergency repairs on a water main break that occurred overnight. This shutdown will affect fire sprinklers, restrooms, labs and drinking fountains throughout these buildings. Restrooms will be available in adjacent buildings. An update will be sent out when more information becomes available.

All steam services will be shut down to Linus Pauling Science Center today, Thursday, March 21 from 1 p.m. through tomorrow, Friday, March 22 at 4 p.m. while a contractor replaces a failed steam pressure regulator.  Building occupants may experience some air temperature fluctuations but the backup boiler for the building will be operational during this time.

Facilities Services be conducting a fire alarm system test in Linus Pauling September 21, 2023 between 6:00 am -7:00 am.  The testing will be brief and include both sounding of alarms and strobes. The sounding of alarms and strobes will be performed before 7:00 in the morning.

The steam will be shut down in Cordley Hall East, Ag. Life Sciences Building, Linus Pauling, Nash Hall, West Greenhouse & Crop Sciences August 24, 2023 12:01 am – 8:00 am to repair distribution isolation valve gasket on the steam line along Campus Way (200 ft east of the north bound lane of SW 30th st.) This process affects hot water supply, heating, and all equipment that uses steam, building wide.

11/10/22 @ 11:15am Operation to the freight elevator has been restored.

The freight elevator at Linus Pauling Science Center is currently shut down for emergency repairs. A restoral date is unknown at this time, replacement parts are on order. Updates will be provided when they are available. For questions contact Facilities Services at 737-2969.

Linus Pauling Science Center building exhaust fans will be shut down to replace several failed fan motors. Building occupants may notice some air pressure fluctuations while work is being performed. Fume hoods should not be used during this time due to decreased air flow and sashes should remain down until EH&S verifies proper operation and removes signage.
