The Fairbanks Hall Renovation Project is now in construction. Due to forecasted windy weather and Fairbanks Hall re-roofing work overhead, the sidewalk between Fairbanks Hall and the Women’s Building will be closed temporarily for safety reasons on Friday September 24, 2021. The south door at the Women’s Building will have signage directing people to use a different door for this short duration. The sidewalk will re-open to pedestrians at 5 p.m. on Friday, September 24, 2021.

Update: Friday September 24, 2021 temperatures are expected to climb into the mid 80’s. Due to shipping delays, Facilities has been unable to obtain the parts necessary to make the final repairs.  Therefore, at this time we will not be able to hold comfortable temperatures in the building.  Please plan accordingly.

9/21/21- Due to a failed chiller component, the Kerr Administration Bldg. will be without cooling for the next several days while replacement parts are on order. This may cause higher than normal temperature levels building-wide. An additional notice will be sent out when repairs are complete and cooling is restored. This shutdown will not affect the server room.

Emergency Street Shutdown Westbound lane at the intersection of 30th and Washington Way due to an apparent water main break. The City of Corvallis has been contacted and is en route to repair, unknown time of restoration.  Additional lane closures could occur as the work progresses. Magruder Hall will experience reduced water pressure while this repair is being performed.

Notice: NW Harrison Blvd full closure (24/7) between NW 31st St and NW 34th St.

Effective Date: September 20 – September 30, 2021

As part of the 2021-22 Street Resurfacing Project along NW Harrison Blvd, NW Harrison Blvd will be closed 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week between NW 31st St. and NW 34th St from September 20 – 30, 2021. Detours will be put into place.

From October 1 – October 12, NW Harrison Blvd will be closed between NW 29th St and NW Merrie Dr during the day, and open overnight. NW Harrison Blvd will be open all day on October 2 for the OSU home football game. A separate notice will be sent for this closure.

For work related to the Arts and Education Complex project, a planned power shutdown for the old heat plant is scheduled between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 due to new electrical service being added to the building. A backup generator for the steam tunnel will be on during the shutdown.

As part of the North District Utility Plant (NDUP) and Cordley Hall Renewal projects, crews will be performing chiller start up procedures and functional testing on three new chillers within the North District Utility Plant. Functional testing will include integration with the existing chilled water loop beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021 through 5 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021. The Agricultural & Life Sciences Building, Nash Hall, Cordley Hall, Wilkinson Hall and the Burt Complex could see chilled water flow and temperature fluctuations as a result of the testing procedures. The NDUP is located along NW Orchard Avenue next to Cordley Hall.

The Fairbanks Hall Renovation Project is now in construction. Due to truck delivery activity, to avoid trucks attempting to stage and offload directly on Jefferson Street, safety concerns, and clearances required in the construction area, the ADA parking spaces located on the west side of the Fairbanks Hall parking lot (lot #3301) will be offline for use starting Friday, September 10, 2021 (view map). Click here to view a map of nearby ADA parking spaces. You can expect increased activities at the building site and an increase in truck traffic on Jefferson Way, to and from 35th Street.
