For work related to Pacific Power system upgrades, the multi-use path along SW Washington Way will be temporarily sectioned off between 30th Street and 35th Street for electrical work being performed by Pacific Power. A detour will be in place. Work is extended through Monday, May 24, 2021.

SW Washington Way area map

As part of the Research Way Lab Building Renovation Project, workers will be pressure testing the coil for the cooling tower outside north of the building. This affects heat and cooling for the building. Temperatures are forecasted to be cool on the day of the scheduled work to avoid allowing the building to get too warm.

As part of the Nash Hall Elevator project, work is scheduled to modify four sprinkler heads. This requires a temporary shutdown of the water to the fire suppression system as well as temporary disabling of associated alarms. Work is scheduled to take place on the morning of Monday, April 26, 2021. This work does not impact other building utilities.

Electrical trenching and drilling work will start at the intersection of 35th Street and SW Washington Way on Monday, April 19, with work occurring on both sides of SW Washington Way between 35th Street and 30th Street through the end of May. Work will progress from west to east along SW Washington Way. This work supports Pacific Power’s power infrastructure and prepares for future upgrades to SW Washington Way.

Trenching work will occur in the following areas: near the Energy Center in the Energy Center East Lot (lot #3340), the Energy Center South Lot (lot #3339) and the 35th Street access to the Energy Center. The access along SW Jefferson Way will remain open. This work supports Pacific Power’s power infrastructure and prepares for future upgrades to SW Washington Way.

35th Street trenching work area map

As part of the Milam Hall re-roofing project, a lift will be set up adjacent to Milam Hall for the roof design team to gain access to the roof starting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021. Work will continue through Friday, April 16, 2021.

As part of the Campus Operations building project, the Western Building parking lot will be fully closed for paving. Paving work is scheduled to start on Thursday, April 15 through Sunday, April 18, 2021. If you are planning to come to the Western Building on these days, you will need to park in another parking lot. If you have fleet vehicles in the Western Building lot, they will need to be moved by end of day on Wednesday, April 14, 2021.
