Due to construction activity associated with the Western Residence Hall project, intermittent lane and sidewalk closures will occur on SW Western Blvd. starting Tuesday, September 8 – Friday, September 11. The closures will be in effect between The LaSells Stewart Center and ILLC. Flaggers will be present in the area to direct traffic as needed. The sidewalk on the north side of Western Blvd. will be closed at times.

A crane will be operating on SW 26th St. on the west side of the Huang Complex construction site on Wednesday, September 9. Bikes will ride with traffic. Flaggers will be directing traffic as needed. City bus and Beaver bus access will be prioritized.

Due to railroad crossing work conducted by Union Pacific, the intersection at SW 17th St. and SW Washington Way will be closed starting Monday, September 7 through Thursday, September 17. No through traffic will be permitted.
Please note that two other intersection closures are currently in effect on Washington Way and those dates will overlap with the 17th St. closure. See schedule below.
8/24 – 9/11: intersection at Washington Way and SW 26th St. closed in all directions. NO through traffic permitted
8/28 – 9/17: intersection at Washington Way and SW 30th St. closed in all directions. NO through traffic permitted
Pedestrian crossings and sidewalks in the area may be temporarily restricted. Please follow detour signage.
All closures will be in effect 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The intersections will reopen for nights and weekends. Other impacts may include noise and dust near the work zones.
Please plan to utilize SW 15th St. or SW 35th St. as a north-south detour.

All steam services to Withycombe Hall have been turned off to facilitate emergency repairs to the steam pressure relief valve. This shutdown will affect all equipment utilizing steam, including building heat, radiators, hot water and departmental equipment.
Due to parts availability, a restoration date is currently unknown. Additional updates will be provided as information becomes available.
