As part of the Gilkey Hall Renovation project, the sidewalk between Gilkey Hall and Strand Hall will be closed on Thursday, May 1 to accommodate a boom lift working in the area. Pedestrians exiting Strand on the north side of the building may detour around the closure by traveling west on the walkway through People’s Park.

As part of the Gilkey Hall Renovation project, the sidewalks on the south and west sides of Gilkey Hall will be closed starting on Tuesday, December 17.

The south sidewalk will be closed on December 17 & 18.

The west sidewalk (bordering SW Memorial Place) will close on December 17 and remain closed for the duration of the project.

Other possible impacts include noise near the work area.

As part of the Gilkey Hall Renovation project, there will be a planned power outage affecting multiple buildings on the NE side of campus on Tuesday, December 17 from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. This outage will impact all floors in each building. Please see below for a complete list of impacted buildings.

  • Dearborn Hall
  • Gilbert Hall Addition
  • Gilkey Hall
  • Gleeson Hall
  • Milne Computer Center
  • Rogers Hall

What do you need to do to prepare for this outage? 
Please make sure that all computers, printers, copiers and other electronic devices are turned off prior to Tuesday, December 17. If you have an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), also known as a battery back-up, please be sure to turn it off as well.
