Renovation work occurring at Gilkey Hall will require a planned power outage impacting multiple buildings on the northeast side of campus.

The power outage will occur on Wednesday, May 20 and again on Thursday, May 21 from 6:00 – 7:00 a.m. both days. The exception will be Gilkey Hall, which will remain without power for the full 24 period.

The buildings impacted by the 1-hour power outage on both days are:

  • Gleeson Hall
  • Gilbert Addition
  • Shepard Hall
  • Dearborn Hall
  • Rogers Hall
  • Milne Computer Center
  • Community Hall

Buildings will be closed during this power outage. Any OSU staff needing to enter must check in with the contractor on-site.

What do you need to do to prepare for this outage?

Please ensure that all electronic devices not connected to emergency power are powered down and that all computers, printers, copiers and other electronic devices are turned off prior to Wednesday, May 20. If you have an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), also known as a battery back-up, please be sure to turn it off as well.

Employees scheduled to work when buildings are without power should consult with their supervisors regarding work schedules. For more information regarding work scheduling, please refer to the instructions regarding Interruptions of University Operations.

For questions or comments on this closure, contact Project Manager Scott Bond  at (541) 974-2520.

Please note that after May 18, questions should be directed to Jason Lundy at (541) 270-0193.
