For work related to the Poling Hall Window Replacement project, there will be partial road and sidewalk closures near Poling Hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily, starting on Monday, March 22, 2021 through Friday, March 26, 2021. The west sidewalk at SW Weatherford Place will be partially obstructed by lifts on Monday, March 22, 2021, while teams measure window dimensions for an upcoming project. Lifts will be partially obstructing the north lane of SW Intramural Lane to facilitate staging and site access throughout the week.

UPDATED: As part of the Nash Hall Elevator project, a sprinkler head needs to be removed, which requires the temporary shutdown of the water to that system as well as temporarily disabling the associated alarms at Nash Hall. Work is scheduled to take place all morning on Friday, April 9, 2021.

Each year Facilities Services performs necessary maintenance on the university’s steam system, which requires shutting off the steam throughout campus, to complete maintenance services at the plant, throughout the steam tunnels and in each building.  This process affects hot water supply, heating, and all equipment that uses steam, campus wide.  The steam shutdown for 2021 will occur June 13th 8:00 pm – June 17th, 2021 3:00 pm.

As part of a construction project at the RAIL 244 facility, this is an informational campus-wide notification to inform pedestrian path users about the potential for increased vehicle traffic along Campus Way, between SW 35th Street and SW 53rd Street. Vehicles will be traveling to and from the RAIL facility and the Building 244 construction site. The general contractor for the project will post signs at key points for the duration of the project.

As part of the Research Way Building – Library Archive project, spray insulation work at the ceiling will happen at the Research Way Building, starting on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. Work will continue through Tuesday, March 30, 2021. We are providing this notification to building users, and to those who visit the Research Way Building from campus. This activity may have the possibility of fumes and smells during the installation time. The spray foam work will happen off and on during this period as they prep and spray different areas until the basement ceiling insulation is complete. The general contractor will post signs at entry points into the basement to warn users of the insulation activity during this time frame.

As part of the Motor Pool Canopy Construction Project, a new canopy is being built at the fuel island north of the Motor Pool Building. Fencing will go up around the area, and work will start on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 and continue through Monday, March 29, 2021. Staging will occur in the parking lot west of the Motor Pool Building.

As part of the Gymnastics Practice Facility project, the fire lane located between Kerr Administration Building, the Valley Library and the Gladys Valley Gymnastics Center is scheduled to be closed on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Joy Selig statue is being removed from its current location and relocated.

As part of the North District Utility Plant (NDUP) project, a large concrete pour is scheduled at the NDUP work site along NW Orchard Avenue on Monday, March 1, 2021. We have applied for and been granted a noise permit through the City of Corvallis for this work. The nearby residential neighbors were notified via informational flyer no later than Wednesday, February 24, 2021. If you are in the area between the hours of 8 a.m. and 9 p.m., on Monday, March 1, 2021, you will experience construction noise and activities later into the evening than normal.

North District Utility Plant area map

The Corvallis Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) will be placing bike counters at locations across Corvallis. Counter equipment will be placed on a utility pole on the north side of SW Campus Way on Oregon State University’s Corvallis campus. The counter equipment will be in place starting on Wednesday, Feb. 24 through mid-March 2021. Tubes associated with the counting equipment can be driven over.
