For work related to the Completing Reser Stadium project, updated closure dates for the Zone 2 area of the Reser Stadium parking lot (lot #3281) are scheduled for preparation and day-of work for the planned implosion of the stadium’s west side. The updated closure, including parking spaces in parking lot #3281 located between the west side of the stadium and the creek, is scheduled to start on Monday, January 3, 2022 through Monday, January 10, 2022. Between 7 and 8 a.m. on January 7, 2022, licensed contractors will use explosive charges to implode the stadium’s west side. The Zone 2 area of the lot will be used for loading in containers to sit parallel to Oak Creek.

Reser Stadium Zone 2 area map

Facilities will be testing the newly installed transfer switch on January 4th, 2022  at 5am. There will be brief disruptions in power, approximately 30 seconds, on the red generator outlets and some emergency lighting while power is transferred to the generator and back. Testing should be completed by 8am. There will be no disruption to normal non-generator protected power in the building.

For work related to the Completing Reser Stadium project, starting on Monday, January 3, 2022 through Monday, January 10, 2022, a temporary entrance and exit driveway will be constructed along SW 26th Street and five ADA parking spaces will be temporarily closed. A temporary sidewalk closure along SW 26th Street is also planned.

On Monday, January 10, 2022, the temporary driveway areas along SW 26th Street will reopen to all traffic, parking lot fencing for the scheduled implosion of the stadium’s west side on January 7, 2022 will be removed, and site fencing for the new wellness clinic will be set up. Temporary traffic impacts along SW 26th Street related to conduit installation work being performed by Pacific Power are also expected. One lane of traffic along SW 26th Street will remain open while work is being performed.

The planned power outages will impact multiple buildings located along or near SW Jefferson Way in the Community Hall Slope Project work area. Planned outages are scheduled from Thursday, December 30, 2021 through Saturday, January 1, 2022.

If you have an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), also known as a battery back-up, please be sure to turn it off as well. As necessary, be prepared to have someone report to campus following the planned outages to turn computers, printers and other electronic devices back on.

Reser Stadium parking lot Zone 2 area map

As part of the Fairbanks Hall Renovation Project, pressurizing steam piping for Fairbanks Hall will occur on the afternoon of Thursday, December 23, 2021 to burn off residual protective oils prior to covering the pipes in insulation and framed walls. We expect this to create an amount of smoke, and an active fire watch will be in place on every floor at Fairbanks Hall while work is taking place.

For work related to the Arts and Education Complex project, a partial closure of SW Benton Place is scheduled to allow for utility work. There will be no full closure of the road and minimal impacts to parking. The partial closure starts on Monday, December 20, 2021 through Thursday, December 23, 2021.
