As part of the Nash Hall Elevator project, smoke detectors are scheduled to be installed on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021. Work is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. through 2 p.m., and will require the fire alarm system to be put in test mode. As part of this work, the fire alarm control panel on the first floor will most likely be emitting a beeping sound. This notice is intended to inform building occupants.

All steam services for the following buildings will be shut down on January 14, 2021 from 6am -12pm,  to replace the expansion joint on the condensate system.  This will affect all steam services throughout, Richardson Hall, Dryden Hall, Magruder Hall, Vet Research Lab, Lab Animal Resources Center, Vet Dairy Barn & Merritt Truax Indoor Center

Notice: Oak Creek Building Exterior Wood Column Lead Abatement & Shoring

Effective Date(s): Wednesday, January 6 through Friday, January 15, 2021

Exterior wood column lead abatement and shoring will be performed as part of the Oak Creek Building Wood Column Replacement. The work will occur on the south side of the exterior of the building and affect two floors. There will likely be solvent odors for the lead paint removal, running through early next week (1/11/21) and drilling noise / vibrations through the end of next week (1/15/21).

Insulation mock-up work at the ceiling will happen starting on Wednesday, Jan. 6 through Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021. The Research Way Building is located at 4700 SW Research Way in Corvallis. We are providing this early notification to the building users, and to those who visit from campus, that this activity may have the possibility of fumes and smells during the installation time. The general contractor for the project will post signs at entry points into the basement to warn users of the insulation activity during this installation.

As part of the Research Way Building Library Archives project, work will occur in the basement of the Research Way Building. Insulation mock-up work at the ceiling will happen starting around the first part of January 2021. The Research Way Building is located at 4700 SW Research Way in Corvallis. We are providing this early notification to the building users, and to those who visit from campus, that this activity may have the possibility of fumes and smells during the installation time. The mock-up work will occur during the first or second week of January 2021 and is anticipated to take three days to complete. Our general contractor will post signs at entry points into the basement to warn users of the insulation activity during this installation.

Road closures are scheduled around West Campus residence halls to support work related to the Buxton, Hawley and West roof replacement projects. Work is scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020. Work will start at 8 a.m. at SW Intramural Lane south of West Hall. Once complete, work will transition to the west end of Hawley Hall and obstruct SW Sackett Place and the east sidewalk. Then, work will shift to the north of Hawley Hall and Buxton Hall, and one lane of SW Jefferson Way will be closed along with the south sidewalk. Next, work will shift to SW Weatherford Place and will close the road as well as the west sidewalk. Each portion of work is anticipated to take approximately two hours to stage and pick the supplies to the roofs of the buildings. Intramural parking lot #3294 will also be impacted while work takes place.
