6/9-6/24/2022: Temporary closure of outside basement access at Gladys Valley Gymnastics Center
For work related to the Community Hall Slope Project, outside basement access at the Gladys Valley Gymnastics Center will be temporarily closed starting at 7 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2022 through 5 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022. Jack hammering work is scheduled on the first day of the closure to remove concrete.
The SMILE Program has been notified and will be able to access their office from the building entrance located on the first floor, west side near the Valley Library.

5/23-5/25/2022: Temporary sidewalk & driveway access closure between Dixon Rec & Goss Stadium
For work related to the Washington Way Improvement Project, a closure is planned for the western portion of the sidewalk and driveway access south of Dixon Recreation Center and Goss Stadium along SW Washington Way. A contractor will be onsite excavating a trench to install new conduit for future relocated power.

5/19/2022: Sidewalk ramp closure & short-term service vehicle access delays along SW Campus Way
For work related to the 2022 Street Safety Maintenance Project, the southeast sidewalk ramp along SW Campus Way, located northeast of Milne Computer Center, will be temporarily closed from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2022. There may also be delays to short-term service vehicle access during the closure.

Facilities Services will be performing annual load bank testing for the below listed building emergency/ stand-by generators. Each test will take approximately 3 hours. There may be excessive noise and possible exhaust fume odors associated with testing. Each generator will be refueled after testing.

The cooling and heating water will be shut down in Austin Hall May 28, 2022 7:00 am – 7:00 pm to repair a leaking water line. This will affect cooling and heating in all offices. Large common areas will not be affected.

5/17-5/20/2022: Sidewalk detour & temporary closure of 4 parking spaces in Magruder Hall Diagnostic Laboratory parking area
For work related to the 2022 Street Safety Maintenance Project, four parking spaces in the Magruder Hall Diagnostic Laboratory parking area will be closed starting at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 through 3 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022. A sidewalk detour will also be in place for pedestrians and the diagnostic lab will remain open.

5/11-6/3/2022: Steam tunnel access hatch closure & relocation
For work related to the Community Hall Slope Project, the access hatch (JWH8) to the utility tunnel will be removed and relocated. The current hatch is located on Jefferson Avenue across from Kerr Administration Building. Additional access hatches can be found west, north, and east of this location. Communication lines in the tunnel in this area are temporarily supported and impede movement. Staff should avoid this area of the tunnel, if possible.
