As part of the Research Way Lab Building renovation project, demolition and removal of roof top air handler units is necessary. These units will be removed from the rooftop with a crane. The first and second floors on the northwest side of the building, above the area where air handler units will be removed, are affected. These areas will need to be vacated.

Research Way Lab Building air handler unit work

As part of the Merryfield Hall renovation project, a steam shutdown will occur so that failing steam piping can be replaced. Temporary heating will be provided for the spaces that are occupied in the south end and east wing of the building.

As part of the Research Way Lab Building renovation project, a closure of restrooms, room #s 1155-1 and 1156-1, will occur for sanitary sewer tie-in work. These restrooms will not be useable for approximately one hour from 10 to 11 a.m. Restroom, room #1005, however, will remain available for use during this time.

As part of the ALS Mass Spectrometry HVACProject, a planned power outage is necessary to work on electrical panels. The planned power outage is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 17, 2020 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Power will be shut down for this duration for the electrical work, and will affect normal power only for the entire south portion of the basement in the ALS Building, as well as lighting on the south end of all floors. Emergency backup power will not be affected.

As part of the Burt Hall II Fire Renovation project, there will be construction activities in and around Burt Hall II. Construction activities begin on Monday, Dec. 16, 2019.

The demo phase of the project is set to begin on Dec. 16, 2019. You may experience increased noise, smells, traffic congestion and/or general construction-related issues. Construction activities will occur in the parking lot to the north of the Burt Complex and there may be traffic congestion along NW 27th Street between Jackson Avenue and Orchard Avenue (view map).
