Otis will be conducting routine elevator safety testing on January 2nd, 2026, between 7 am -5 pm at the Kerr Administration Bldg. Each unit will be out of service for approximately 4 hours. Power will be shut down to the Western Shops and Western Building server room on Saturday November 15, 2025, from 6:00 am – 4:30pm to replace the failed transfer switch that feeds the Western Building server room.
This will affect power building wide at the Western Shops and power to the server room at the Western Building.

What do you need to do to prepare for this outage?
Please ensure that all computers, printers, copiers and other electronic devices are turned off prior to November 15, 2025. If you have an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), also known as a battery back-up, please be sure to turn it off as well.
The sidewalk and building entrance on the west side of Fairbanks Hall will be closed on Thursday, November 13 to allow for boom lift equipment and work on the skylight.
