Air handler #3 (AHU3) will be shut down in Magruder Hall on June 24th, 2024 between 7:00 am – 10:00 am to perform preventative maintenance on the unit. This should only affect the library and the southeast offices. Building occupants may notice warmer than normal air temperatures and reduced airflow during this time.

As part of ongoing construction projects in the north campus area, there will be a planned power outage affecting all floors of Weniger Hall and Plageman Hall on Wednesday, July 10 from 7 A.M. to 4 P.M.

Weniger Hall will be closed during this outage. No access to the building will be permitted during this time frame.

Four service parking spaces in the Weniger Hall East lot will be closed to allow a trailer-mounted generator to be installed.

Please note: Backup generators for critical equipment are available on a very limited basis. Please contact Brandon Holden at Facilities Services if you need assistance.

What do you need to do to prepare for this outage? 
Please make sure that all computers, printers, copiers and other electronic devices are turned off prior to Wednesday, July 10. If you have an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), also known as a battery back-up, please be sure to turn it off as well. 

Employees scheduled to work when buildings are without power should consult with their supervisors regarding work schedules. For more information regarding work scheduling, please refer to the instructions regarding Interruptions of University Operations.

As part of the ALS Building Controls project, the fume hoods in the Agricultural and Life Sciences Building will be shut down starting Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28 to allow for exhaust system modifications. This shutdown will affect fume hoods on all floors of the building.

The air pressure system will be shut off, but heating and cooling will still be available in the building.  

Other possible impacts include noise near the work site.

As part of the ALS Controls Upgrade project, a crane will be working in the alley behind the Agricultural and Life Sciences building on Monday, June 24.

The alley will be closed to vehicle traffic. The ALS loading dock will be closed. The parking spaces located in the alley behind the Learning Innovation Center, Hovland Hall, Gilmore Hall and the Women’s Building will be closed. No vehicle access to the alley or the parking spaces will be permitted while the crane is working.

All entrances to the ALS building will remain open.

The sidewalk on the south side of the alley will remain open for pedestrians.

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, Kelley Engineering Center will be CLOSED on June 22 from 7:00 AM until 3:30 PMThe water main to the building is being modified for the Kelley District Utility Plant. The building will be locked and signs will be posted on exterior doors indicating that the building is closed.

The steam will be shut down in Sackett Hall, Austin Hall and Learning Innovation Center on June 18th estimated time for resupply is June 19th. Services will be shutdown to repair a steam line, this will affect all steam services, including heat & hot water building wide.

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, a section of the walkway between Kelley Engineering Center and Plageman Hall will be closed on Friday, June 21 to allow for tree removal work. The south entrance to Plageman Hall will be closed.
