As part of the Nash Hall Cooling Tower Replacement project, the Sackett Hall North parking lot (#3303) will be partially closed on Monday, October 23 to allow for crane activity. The closure will impact parking spaces on the east side of the lot, closest to Nash Hall. The south-west basement and south first floor entrances to Nash Hall will also be closed. The north-east entrance and the loading dock will remain open.

In addition, the walkway that runs along the west side of Nash Hall will also be closed. Pedestrians may detour around the area via walkways on the south, east and north sides of the building.

Nash AHU59 (air handler units) will be shut down to replace failed VFD drives for fan motors,  AHU59 will be shutdown from 6am September 19th to 4pm September 20th. This will affect air flow to the labs on all floors and there will be very limited heating or cooling during this time. Exhaust fans will continue to run but fume hoods should not be used during this time and fume hood sashes should remain closed.

The steam will be shut down in Cordley Hall East, Ag. Life Sciences Building, Linus Pauling, Nash Hall, West Greenhouse & Crop Sciences August 24, 2023 12:01 am – 8:00 am to repair distribution isolation valve gasket on the steam line along Campus Way (200 ft east of the north bound lane of SW 30th st.) This process affects hot water supply, heating, and all equipment that uses steam, building wide.

As part of the Cordley Hall Renewal project,  a natural gas shutdown will occur today, Friday July 21 that will result in no natural gas service in Nash Hall and ALS, lasting until 3 pm. Northwest Natural Gas will be working in the area south of Cordley Hall east and will protrude into Campus Way.

As part of the ALS Controls project, the chilled water cooling system will be temporarily shut down in the Agriculture & Life Sciences Building and Nash Hall on Wednesday, June 28 from 6 A.M. to 12 P.M to allow for piping and sensor installation. The chilled water system controls the air conditioning in the impacted buildings. Building temperatures will be slightly warmer during the outage, but the difference will be minimal. Walk-ins, server rooms and environmental chambers will not be impacted by this shutdown.

What do you need to do to prepare for this outage? Please make sure that all computers, printers, copiers and other electronic devices are turned off prior to February 1st, 2023. Due do construction-related activities at Cordley East for the Cordley Hall Renovation Project, the North District Utility Plant will be shut down starting on Monday, Oct. 10, 2022 through Wednesday, October 12, 2022. This will impact chilled water service to all buildings on the chilled water loop. Impacted buildings include: Cordley West, ALS, Nash Hall, Wilkinson Hall and the Burt Hall complex.
