Please note: this closure has been extended. As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, SW Campus Way will be closed between SW 26th Street and SW Memorial Place starting Monday, November 6 through Monday, November 27 to allow for crane activity.

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, SW Campus Way will be closed between SW 26th Street and SW Memorial Place starting Monday, November 6 through Wednesday, November 15 to allow for crane activity. The south entrance at Kelley Engineering Center will also be closed.

The north sidewalk in this section of Campus Way will be closed. The south sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians.

The bike lanes in this section of Campus Way will also be closed. Bicyclists may detour around the closure using the walkway on the south side of Milam Hall.

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, the steam system will be shut down in Kelley Engineering Center on Wednesday, October 11 from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. to allow for repairs and necessary modifications. The building will be without hot water during the shutdown and may experience temperature fluctuations. The 4th floor women’s restroom will also be closed during the shutdown.

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, construction activity will impact the east entrance of Kelley Engineering Center starting on Monday, September 18. The east entrance area will be part of an active work site through mid-October but will remain open.

In addition, a section of the sidewalk along SW Memorial Place, directly in front of the east entrance, will be closed from Monday, September 18 through Friday, September 22. Pedestrians will be directed across Memorial Place to the east sidewalk.

Other possible impacts include noise and dust near the work site.

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, there will be intermittent traffic impacts on SW Campus Way due to tree trimming activity on Saturday, August 26 from 8 A.M. to 10 A.M. The location of the work will be between SW Memorial Place and SW 26th Street., near Milam Hall and Kelley Engineering Center. The equipment blocking the roadway will move to accommodate vehicle traffic and allow for emergency access to the area.

Both the north and the south sidewalks on Campus Way will remain open for pedestrians. Other possible impacts include noise near the work site.

Convergint will be conducting annual fire alarm & sprinkler testing.  Testing will take place in the buildings listed below.  The testing will be brief and include both sounding of alarms and strobes. As part of the testing building occupants may notice occasional beeping coming from the fire panel and horns and strobe lights activating throughout the building.  Signage will be posted on exterior doors while testing is being conducted.

8/1/23 Update: Kelley generator has been repaired and is back in service.

7/27/23 Update: A temporary backup generator has been connected to the building.

Due to a mechanical failure, the Kelley Engineering Center backup generator has been taken offline. This will affect any system in the building requiring backup power only if there is an actual power outage. Crews are working on locating a temporary backup generator large enough for the building until repairs can be completed. An additional notice will be sent out when a temporary backup generator is located and connected to the building.

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, the chilled water cooling system will be temporarily shut down in Kelley Engineering Center and Johnson Hall on Thursday, July 6 from 5 A.M. to 1 P.M to allow for piping work. The chilled water system controls the air conditioning in the impacted buildings.

The buildings will experience higher than normal temperatures, but the server rooms will not be impacted by this shutdown. ADA access will be maintained during this project.
