Two major projects related to the Washington Way Improvement Project will impact campus starting Monday, June 19 and continuing throughout the summer.

Washington Way will be fully closed between 17th and 26th Streets from June 20 through September 25 for road reconstruction work. The sidewalks on both sides of Washington Way will remain open.

A second closure will impact 26th Street starting at the Washington Way intersection and extending 200 ft. to the north. This closure will be in effect from June 19 through July 3. The closure includes the entire roadway and the west sidewalk on 26th St. Parking spaces on the east side of 26th St. will remain open during construction.

As part of the LaSells Stewart Center Mechanical & Roof Renewal Project, a section of SW Stadium Ave. located directly behind LaSells Stewart Center and just south of Bloss Hall will be closed to allow for crane activity on Friday, June 9 from 8 A.M. to 1 P.M. The B2 parking lot east of the LaSells Stewart Center will also be closed.  

The entrance to SW Stadium Ave. from SW Western Blvd. will be closed. Both the east and west sidewalks on Stadium Ave. directly behind the LaSells Stewart Center will be closed. A vehicle detour will be available from Western Blvd. along the east and north side of the Bloss Hall South Parking Lot.

As part of the 2023 Street Safety Project, SW Campus Way between SW 14th St. and SW Pioneer Place will be closed on Wednesday, May 31 from 7 A.M to 5 P.M., except to allow traffic to exit eastbound from Pioneer Place. Workers in the area will be directing traffic, moving equipment and allowing drivers to exit from Pioneer Place as necessary. The westbound lane from 14th St to Pioneer Place will be closed to all traffic.  Vehicles needing access to Pioneer Place may detour around the work area via SW Jefferson Way and enter from the eastbound lane on Campus Way. In addition, the dedicated parking spaces for the School of Civil and Construction Engineering will be closed for the duration of the project.

Sidewalks will remain open for pedestrians. Other possible impacts include noise, dust and mud near the construction site.

SW Campus Way will be closed daily from 8 A.M until 3 P.M to all vehicle, pedestrian and bicycle traffic from June 19th through June 30th for brush clearing and spraying. Work will occur Monday through Friday. The route will reopen after 3 P.M. on weekdays and remain fully open on weekends. The closure will begin just west of the Feed Center and continue down Campus Way to 53rd St.

Jefferson Way will be closed between Benton Place and Waldo Place on Saturday, April 22. The intersections at Benton Place and Waldo Place will be closed in all directions. ADA parking at the Furman Hall West lot will remain open. Other impacts include noise, dust and mud near the construction site.
