As part of the Student Legacy Park Resurfacing project, a pick-up truck and trailer will temporarily block the northbound lane on SW Benton Place, directly in front of the McAlexander Fieldhouse main entrance, on Thursday, July 13 & Friday, July 14 for various short intervals throughout both days. The truck will be picking up materials from McAlexander Fieldhouse and each pick-up will take approximately 30 minutes for loading.

Additionally, the loading zone and double doors on the south end of McAlexander Fieldhouse will be occupied during this project. Access to the batting cage door will be maintained. The west sidewalk along Benton Place and the crosswalk in front of McAlexander Fieldhouse will remain open for pedestrians. The southbound lane will remain open for vehicles.

As part of the 2023 Street Safety Project, SW Campus Way between SW 14th St. and SW Pioneer Place will be closed on Thursday, July 6 from 7 A.M. to 1 P.M., except to allow traffic to exit eastbound from Pioneer Place. Workers in the area will be directing traffic, moving equipment and allowing drivers to exit from Pioneer Place as necessary. The westbound lane from 14th St to Pioneer Place will be closed to all traffic.  Vehicles needing access to Pioneer Place may detour around the work area via SW Jefferson Way and enter from the eastbound lane on Campus Way. Please see detour map for reference.

In addition, the dedicated parking spaces for the School of Civil and Construction Engineering will be closed for the duration of the project.

Sidewalks will remain open for pedestrians. Other possible impacts include noise, dust and mud near the construction site.

As part of the Jen-Hsun & Lori Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex project, soil sampling work will occur around and near the Lonnie B. Harris Black Cultural Center from Monday, June 26 through Wednesday, June 28. Multiple parking spaces on the north end of the A2 parking lot west of the building will be closed. The rest of the parking lot will remain open. The work will require periodic closures to the Center’s patio area. The sidewalks bordering NW Monroe Avenue to the north and SW Memorial Place to the east will not be impacted. The sidewalks on the west and south sides of the Center may be temporarily unavailable due to equipment needs. Other possible impacts include noise near the work site.

Sidewalk median closed through 7/3; parking closed through 12/31

As part of the Upper Division & Graduate Student Housing project, the roadway and sidewalk median on SW Madison Ave. between SW 9th and SW 11th Streets will be closed through July 3. The sidewalks on the north side of Madison Ave. and the east side of 11th St. will remain closed through December 31. The sidewalk on the south side Madison Ave. will remain open.

In addition, several city parking spaces along the west side of SW 11th St. near the intersection with NW Monroe Ave. will be closed through December 31st to allow for construction activities.

As part of the Dixon Recreation Center Pool System Replacement & HVAC Project, a crane will be placed in the Dixon East Parking Lot on Monday, June 5 from 6 A.M. to 12 P.M. The parking lot will remain open, but two ADA parking spaces and one loading zone space will be closed on the north side of the parking lot. Pedestrian access will be maintained along the sidewalk closest to Goss Stadium.

As part of the West Greenhouse Improvement Project, a section of the eastbound lane on SW Campus Way will be closed along with a section of the south sidewalk on Friday, May 5 from 7 AM to 4PM. The impacted section is located between SW 30th and SW 35th Streets in front of the Motor Pool West and National Forage Seed Center East parking lots. The parking lots will remain open. However, the east entrance to the NFSC East parking lot will be closed and multiple parking spaces will be unavailable.

Drivers should expect to see flaggers directing traffic around the closure. A pedestrian detour will be available along the north sidewalk.

Effective Date(s): Saturday, March 25 through Monday, March 27

As part of the Fairbanks Hall Renovation project, there will be a planned power outage from Saturday, March 25 through Monday, March 27. The new, permanent generator for the building will be installed during this time. Fairbanks Hall will be closed to the public during the outage.

Building power will be restored no later than end of day on Monday, March 27. 

Two Art Department reserved parking spaces will be unavailable during this power outage. Signs will be posted. Cars may be towed.

What do you need to do to prepare for this outage? Please make sure that all computers, printers, copiers, and other electronic devices are turned off prior to Saturday, March 25. If you have an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), also known as a battery back-up, please be sure to turn it off as well. The building will not have network connectivity during this power outage, i.e. no wireless, wired internet or VoIP phone connectivity. Anything that relies on the network will not be functional.

As part of the Rogers Hall fume hood replacement project, a crane will be placed in the Graf Hall parking lot to lift equipment onto the roof of Rogers Hall. The work is scheduled for Monday, March 13 from 6:30 – 9 a.m. Limited parking spaces will remain available.
