This is an update on a water pipeline and road improvement project led by the city of Corvallis. Work is expected to continue through September 2025. Typical work hours for this project will be Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  To sign up for updates on this project from the city, visit https://www.corvallisoregon.gov/subscribe and select the Transportation Project – Western Blvd, 35th St, 11th St subscription list.

Impacts for the week of April 21st-25th

  • Monday thru Wednesday – A road closure and detour on Western Blvd between Ivy Pl and Highway 34 will be in place to allow for the continuation of the road dig-outs and repairs.
    • Westbound traffic on Western will need to use West Hills Rd to 53rd St.
    • Eastbound traffic will need to use 35th Street from the highway to get back to Western to avoid this specific closure.
  • Thursday thru Friday – Potholing and exploratory work will require flagging at the intersection of 35th/Western.
  • Normal traffic flow will be re-established at the end of each work day throughout the project.
  • West Hills Rd. will be open to traffic in both directions.
  • Bicycle lanes will be closed at times and bikes will be moved onto the roadway.
  • The sidewalk at the NE corner of 35th/Western will be closed to accommodate waterline work there. Pedestrians travelling east and west on Western Blvd. between 30th and 35th Street will need to use the pedestrian detour to the southern sidewalk along Western Blvd.
  • Access to local driveways will be maintained and signage will be posted to keep the Western Building driveways clear while the intersection signal is shut down.
  • Temporary changes to CTS bus stops are possible. See https://www.corvallisoregon.gov/cts for city bus information.

Please note: a full closure of the SW 35th St./Western Blvd. intersection is scheduled to start on April 28th. Details regarding this closure will be available in the next update.

As part of the Azalea House remodel project, an ADA and a reserved parking space in the Madison Ave Co-op parking lot near Oxford House and Champinefu Lodge will be blocked off due to electrical work at the transformer. The sidewalk in front of the spaces will also be impacted.
