As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant Project, Kelley Engineering Center and Plageman Student Health Center will be closed for a planned power outage on Wednesday, March 26 from 4 – 8 a.m.

What do you need to do to prepare for this outage? 
Please ensure that all electronic devices not connected to emergency power are powered down and that all computers, printers, copiers and other electronic devices are turned off prior to Wednesday, March 26. If you have an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), also known as a battery back-up, please be sure to turn it off as well. Please ensure that all fume hoods are closed before leaving the labs.

Employees scheduled to work when buildings are without power should consult with their supervisors regarding work schedules. For more information regarding work scheduling, please refer to the instructions regarding Interruptions of University Operations

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, the Kelley Engineering Center east entrance will be intermittently closed due to crane activity occurring on SW Memorial Place. This closure will take place on Thursday, February 20. The bike room door on the east side of KEC will also be closed. The crane will be working within the current fenced construction area on Memorial Place.

Flaggers will be present to redirect pedestrians traveling on the Memorial Place west sidewalk during the crane activity. The east sidewalk will remain open.

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, there will be a simulated power outage exercise taking place at Kelley Engineering Center on Thursday, February 6 from 5 – 7 a.m. The elevator in Kelley Engineering Center will be out of service for approximately 30 minutes during the outage exercise.

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, SW Memorial Place between SW Campus Way and NW Monroe Ave. will be closed through March 1, 2025. A section of the west sidewalk on Memorial Place will be closed. The east sidewalk will remain open.

The east entrances to Kelley Engineering Center will remain open. A pedestrian pathway through the fenced construction area will be provided.

The bike lane on the east side of Memorial Place will remain open.  

Other possible impacts include noise, dust and mud near the work area.

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, SW Campus Way between SW 26th St. and SW Memorial Place will be closed on Tuesday, November 26 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. The closure is necessary to allow for crane activity related to the project. After completing work on the south side of Kelley Engineering Center, the crane will move to SW Memorial Place and continue working within the existing construction fencing.

The north sidewalk in this section of Campus Way will be closed. The south sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians.

The Kelley Engineering Center south entrance will be closed.

Other possible impacts include noise, dust and mud near the work zone.
