The city of Corvallis will be conducting a long-term construction project to replace a water pipeline on SW 35th St. and SW Western Blvd. Work is slated to begin at the end of March and is expected to continue over the summer.

The city plans to begin work on SW Western Blvd. and then move to SW 35th St. later this spring. Along with the new water pipeline, the city will be improving pedestrian crossings, adding buffered bike lanes in some sections of roadway and repaving both streets.

The Corvallis Public Works Department stated that detours for vehicles would be in place for road closures and any disruptions in water service would be communicated to affected buildings 48 hours in advance. Local access to residences, businesses and other buildings will be maintained during this project.

Once the city’s construction schedule is finalized, notifications regarding campus road closures and other impacts will be available on the Campus Notifications blog, where subscribers can receive updates via email.

Beaver Bus riders can find updates on detours and route changes by visiting the Beaver Bus Route Changes or the Beaver Bus Tracker pages.
