The sidewalk, parking space, alley and parking lot entrance closures around the Pride Center have been extended through Friday, June 14.

Through 6/14: a section of sidewalk on the north side of SW A Ave., directly in front of the Pride Center, will be closed. Pedestrians may use the crosswalk at SW 15th St. and the south sidewalk to detour around the area. (View map)

Through 6/14: the alley behind the Pride Center (SW May Ave.) will be closed along with several parking spaces on the north side of the roadway. Vehicles may enter May Ave. from 15th St. to access the parking lot east of the Pride Center, but no through traffic will be permitted. Vehicles may also enter May Ave. from 17th St. to access the parking lot west of the Pride Center or parking around Cascade Hall, but no through traffic behind the Pride Center will be permitted. As part of the Pride Center Renovation project, landscaping and tree work around the work site will result in several traffic and pedestrian impacts in the area, starting on Monday, June 10 through Wednesday, June 12.

As part of the Withycombe Hall Renovation project, one entrance to the North District Utility Plant parking lot from NW Orchard Ave. will be closed along with the fire lane entrance east of the building. The closure is necessary to allow for paving work in the parking lot.

The bollards on SW Campus Way will be removed during this project to allow emergency vehicle and ADA access to the fire lane and the ADA parking spaces between the East Greenhouse and Cordley Hall.

Other possible impacts include noise near the work site.

As part of the Pride Center Renovation project, intermittent closures of roadways and sidewalks will continue to impact the area from Saturday, April 6 through Friday, April 12.

There are three closure areas to be aware of:

  • A section of the north sidewalk on A Avenue, bordering the Pride Center, will be closed, 4/6 – 4/10. Pedestrians may use the south sidewalk as a detour.
  • A section of May Avenue, behind the Pride Center, will be intermittently closed, 4/8 – 4/10.
  • The entry lane to the parking lot west of the Pride Center, off of A Avenue, will be intermittently closed, 4/8 – 4/12. The parking lot will remain open and an alternate entrance is available off of 17th St.

The sidewalk and parking spaces bordering the Pride Center, on the north side of SW A Ave., will be closed to repair the sidewalk and install lighting. Pedestrians may use the south sidewalk along SW A Ave. as a detour.

Additionally, the sidewalk and street parking spaces bordering the Pride Center on the north side of A Ave. are marked as closed. The south sidewalk is marked as a pedestrian detour.

As part of the Pride Center Renovation project, the entrance to the B2 parking lot on SW A Avenue (west of the Pride Center) will be closed April 1 – April 5 from 7A.M. to 4 P.M. daily. Vehicles will be able to exit only from this lane.  Alternate entrances to the parking lot will be available on SW 17th St. and SW 15th St. 

Additionally:

  • The area of SW May Ave directly north of the Pride Center will be closed on April 2 to repair an irrigation line.
  • The sidewalk and parking along SW A Ave. directly south of the Pride Center will be closed to repair sidewalk and install lighting on April 3 and 4th.

As part of the Pride Center Renovation project, the entrance to the B2 parking lot on SW A Avenue (west of the Pride Center) will be closed starting Wednesday March 27 through Friday, March 29. This closure will be in effect from 7 A.M. to 4 P.M. daily. The parking lot will remain fully open. The entrance lane will be closed; the exit lane will remain open.

Alternate entrances will be available on SW 17th St. and SW 15th St.

As part of the Pride Center Renovation project, a section of SW May Ave. will be closed between SW 15th and SW 16th Streets starting Wednesday, March 20 through Friday, March 22. The closure will be in effect from 7 A.M. to 1 P.M. daily.

The SW A Ave. entrance to the parking lot west of the Pride Center will be closed under a previous notification. The exit lane will remain open.

Several parking spaces on the north side of May Ave. will be closed, but all other parking will remain open during this closure. Drivers may access the Cascade Hall South and the S. 17th St./A Ave. parking lots from the 15th St. or 17th St. entrances.
