As part of the Washington Way Improvement project, flaggers will be controlling traffic in all directions at the intersection of SW 26th St. and SW Washington Way starting Monday, November 25 through Friday, December 6.

A work zone and sidewalk closure area will be in place at the southeast corner of 26th St. and Washington Way.

The east sidewalk on 26th St. will be closed starting just south of Washington Way near Dutch Bros. The south sidewalk/multi-use path on Washington Way will be closed between Stadium Ave./OSU Parking Garage and 26th St.

Access to the OSU Beaver Store and Dutch Bros will be maintained from 26th St.

Pedestrian detours on 26th St.

  • Traveling north: Pedestrians traveling on the east sidewalk will be directed to cross 26th St. at Ralph Miller Lane and proceed north along the west sidewalk.
  • Traveling south: Pedestrians may use the west sidewalk as a detour around the work zone.

Pedestrian detours on Washington Way

  • Traveling west: Pedestrians traveling on the south sidewalk/multi-use path will be directed to cross Washington Way at the pedestrian crossing located at the Dixon Rec Center driveway.
  • Traveling east: Pedestrians may use the north sidewalk as a detour around the work zone.

Other possible impacts include noise, dust and mud near the work area.

As part of the Jen-Hsun Huang & Lori Mills Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex project, a vacuum truck will be excavating an area within the construction site on the east side of SW 26th St. between NW Orchard Ave. and NW Monroe Ave.

This work will increase construction noise in the surrounding area through Thursday, November 21.

The water both domestic and industrial will be shut down in Nash Hall November 23, 2024 from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm to replace drain lines in basement area. This will affect all domestic and industrial water and drains building wide.

EH&S has asked us to remind building occupants thatwater will not be available to emergency eyewash/shower units, and occupants should discontinue all hazardous substance use (chemicals, unsealed radioisotopes, and biohazardous materials) for the duration of the shutdown

In addition, the sidewalks on 26th St. north of Washington Way will be closed as follows:

11/18 – 11/19: a small section of the west sidewalk will be closed just north of the intersection. A detour will be available on the sidewalk bordering Student Legacy Park.

11/20 – 11/21: the east sidewalk will be closed between Dixon Recreation Center and Washington Way. A detour will be available along the walkway bordering the sand volleyball courts.

As part of the Collaborative Aerospace Research Center Renovation project, survey work will be conducted along SW 30th St. between Reser Stadium and the Nancy Squires Aerospace Research Center site on Monday, Nov. 18th and Wednesday, Nov. 20th.

The work will require single lane closures on SW 30th St. Flaggers will be present to present to direct traffic through the work zone and allow cars to safely enter and exit the parking lots. Sidewalks will remain open and flaggers will assist pedestrians as needed.

The domestic water will be shut down at Research Way Building November 6th, 2024, at 1:00 pm until November 8th, 2024, at 4:30 pm in order to facilitate emergency sewer line repairs. This will affect all domestic water building wide, including kitchens and restrooms. Portable restrooms and handwashing stations have been placed on site. Restrooms are also available across the street at the Coast Range Building.
