The original post contained error. The planned power outage at Withycombe Hall will take place on Wednesday, February 4 from 5:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. Please see the original post for shutdown procedures and instructions for February 4.

A planned power outage is scheduled at Withycombe Hall on Wednesday, January 28 from 5:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. The building will be closed until 7:30 a.m. All building floors will be impacted. Equipment connected to emergency power will be running on generators.

What do you need to do to prepare for this outage? 
Please ensure that all electronic devices not connected to emergency power are powered down and that all computers, printers, copiers and other electronic devices are turned off prior to Wednesday, January 28. If you have an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), also known as a battery back-up, please be sure to turn it off as well. 

Employees scheduled to work when buildings are without power should consult with their supervisors regarding work schedules. For more information regarding work scheduling, please refer to the instructions regarding Interruptions of University Operations.

Due to contractor tree work being performed on the west side of the Library Quad the red marked sidewalks will be closed for access (see map) beginning Monday, January 26, 2026 from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. The blue lines on the map indicate pedestrian path of travel around the site.

Due to contractor tree work being performed on the east entrance of Strand Ag. and the east side of the Library Quad the red marked sidewalks will be closed for access (see map) beginning Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. The blue line on the map indicates walk that will be partially closed with access around.

As part of renovation work happening at Gilkey Hall, concrete trucks entering and exiting the site will cause intermittent traffic delays on SW Campus Way starting Tuesday, January 20 – Thursday, January 22.

Other possible impacts include noise near the work zone.

There will be intermittent elevator service interruptions in Gilbert Hall Addition over the next two weeks to facilitate ongoing trouble shooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs to the elevator. During this time, the 2nd and 3rd floors can be accessed using the Gilbert Hall elevator and the Gilbert/Gilbert Addition sky bridges. All floors can still be accessed via the stairs.

As part of renovation work happening at Dixon Recreation Center, the alleyway, parking spaces and sidewalks will be closed between Dixon and Goss Stadium on Monday, January 19. A crane will be working on the east side of Dixon.  The lawn area behind Langton Hall will also be closed.
