Portions of OSU’s Corvallis Campus may have recently experienced a power outage. Buildings currently without power are listed below. Pacific Power is investigating the cause of the outage and Facilities Services is working to identify additional buildings affected. At this time there is no estimate for the restoration of power. Email Facilities Services if you notice other areas without power or if there are issues with generators or backup power.

Due to tree removal work happening at the Pride Center, the A Avenue entrance to the parking lot west of the Pride Center will be closed on Tuesday, August 12. Other entrances to the parking lot will remain open. The Pride Center will remain open, but the sidewalk on the west side of the building and the back patio will be closed. 

Other possible impacts include dust and noise from the tree work.

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant Project, SW Memorial Place will be closed between SW Campus Way and Plageman Student Health Center to allow for crane activity and equipment delivery. The closure will be in effect starting Tuesday, August 12 from 5 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.

The east entrance to Kelley Engineering Center may be intermittently unavailable. Service parking spaces in this section of Memorial Place will be closed. The east sidewalk on Memorial Place will remain open for pedestrians.

Due to work occurring in MU Lanes and Games, the southwest entrance to Memorial Union will be closed starting Monday, August 11 through Thursday, August 21. The sidewalk immediately surrounding the southwest entrance will be closed through 8/21. A delivery truck will be parked in the westbound lane on Jefferson Way, outside the southwest entrance, for the duration of the project.

The loading dock on the south side of Memorial Union will remain accessible. ADA access to the building and elevators will be available via the north and southeast entrances.

Additionally, sidewalks on all sides of Memorial Union and the Student Experience Center will be intermittently closed starting Wednesday, August 13 through Wednesday, August 20 to accommodate exterior maintenance work. This includes sections of sidewalk on SW Waldo Place, SW Jefferson Way and SW 26th St. Signage will be in place to alert pedestrians to detours. Access to the Plaza area will be maintained for an event occurring on 8/14.

Emergency Shutdown Notice – The Magruder Hall chiller on the south side (Large Animal Hospital) will be shut down immediately for emergency repairs. This will affect cooling building wide. A restoral date is unknown at this time due to parts availability.  An additional notice will be sent out when services have been restored.

The water both domestic and industrial will be shut down in Weniger Hall August 16, 2025 from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm to repair leaking pipes. This will affect all domestic and industrial water and drains building wide.

EH&S has asked us to remind building occupants thatwater will not be available to emergency eyewash/shower units, and occupants should discontinue all hazardous substance use (chemicals, unsealed radioisotopes, and biohazardous materials) for the duration of the shutdown

This is an update on a water pipeline and road improvement project led by the city of Corvallis. Work is expected to continue through September 2025.

Impacts on SW 35th St. for 8/4 – 8/22

  • Full closure of SW 35th St. at the Oak Creek bridge starts Monday, August 4th through Friday, August 22.
  • The bridge will remain fully closed to ALL traffic, including emergency vehicles.
  • Drivers may use SW 30th or SW 15th St. as a north-south detour route.
  • SW 35th St. will remain open to traffic on both the north and south sides of the bridge, with local access for OSU facilities and private residences, but no traffic will be allowed to cross. The bridge will remain closed overnight and through weekends.
  • Bike lanes on SW 35th St. will be closed. Sidewalks will remain open.

Impacts on SW Western Blvd. for 8/4 – 8/7

Paving work will also occur on Western Blvd. during this time frame and traffic impacts in this area are expected.

  • 8/4 – 8/5: Western Blvd. closed between Hwy 20/Philomath Blvd. and the intersection with SW West Hills Rd.
    • Drivers should plan to use Hwy 20 to SW 35th St. as a detour.
  • 8/6 – 8/7: Western Blvd. fully closed between SW 26th and SW 15th St.
    • Drivers should plan to use Hwy 20 as a detour route. (see map below)
  • Sidewalk ADA ramp work will be completed at the Western Blvd./SW 15th St. intersection.
