Please read carefully – closures will begin on 4/28 and continue throughout the week. Local access to the Western Building parking lot will be maintained. The Beaver Bus stop on SW 35th St. will be closed intermittently. See information and schedule below.

Pipeline installation will be occurring in the SW 35th/Western intersection and then moving north into SW 35th St. over the course of the week. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained. Bus stops may be impacted, please see schedule below.

Monday and Tuesday

  • The north side of the SW 35th/Western intersection will be closed. East/west traffic on Western Blvd. will be permitted. SW 35th St. will be open south of Western Blvd. Flaggers may be directing traffic at times.
  • Vehicles traveling south on SW 35th St. may access the Western Building parking lot and Sagebrush Dr. No vehicles will be permitted traveling north from Western Blvd.
  • The Beaver Bus stop on SW 35th St. at the Western Building will remain open.

Wednesday

  • Pipe installation progresses north on SW 35th St. up to the southern driveway to the Western Building.
  • The Western Building parking lot will remain open. Drivers should plan to approach the Western Building from the north on SW 35th St.
  • Intermittent closures of the Western Building driveways may occur. The intent is to keep at least one access point to the parking lot available at all times.

Thursday

Friday

  • The north driveway to the Western Building will be closed. The south driveway to the Western Building will remain open. Drivers should plan to approach the parking lot from the south on SW 35th St. while work is occurring north of the lot.

Detours

Local access to the Western Building and Sagebrush Dr. will be maintained per the schedule above. Through traffic may detour around the area using SW Western Blvd., SW 15th St. and NW Harrison Blvd.

Bicycles

On-street bike traffic will not be permitted through the work zones in this area. Bicyclists may detour around the area via Sagebrush Drive, SW 30th St. or SW 26th St.

Pedestrians

The sidewalks on SW 35th St. will remain open, except for the NE corner of the Western/SW 35th St. intersection. Pedestrians traveling east-west on Western Blvd. should plan to use the south sidewalk as a detour.

CTS stops

Changes to city bus stops will be posted at the physical location and will be noted on the City’s website. https://www.corvallisoregon.gov/cts

Impacts for the week of April 21st-25th

  • Monday thru Wednesday – A road closure and detour on Western Blvd between Ivy Pl and Highway 34 will be in place to allow for the continuation of the road dig-outs and repairs.
    • Westbound traffic on Western will need to use West Hills Rd to 53rd St.
    • Eastbound traffic will need to use 35th Street from the highway to get back to Western to avoid this specific closure.
  • Thursday thru Friday – Potholing and exploratory work will require flagging at the intersection of 35th/Western. 
  • Normal traffic flow will be re-established at the end of each work day throughout the project.
  • West Hills Rd. will be open to traffic in both directions.
  • Bicycle lanes will be closed at times and bikes will be moved onto the roadway.
  • The sidewalk at the NE corner of 35th/Western will be closed to accommodate waterline work there. Pedestrians travelling east and west on Western Blvd. between 30th and 35th Street will need to use the pedestrian detour to the southern sidewalk along Western Blvd.
  • Access to local driveways will be maintained and signage will be posted to keep the Western Building driveways clear while the intersection signal is shut down.

As part of the Azalea House remodel project, an ADA and a reserved parking space in the Madison Ave Co-op parking lot near Oxford House and Champinefu Lodge will be blocked off due to electrical work at the transformer. The sidewalk in front of the spaces will also be impacted.

As part of the Richardson Hall Chiller and Controls Replacement project, there will be parking space and service or loading area closures around Richardson Hall from Tuesday, April 22 through Wednesday April 23. The parking lots will remain open.  

Other possible impacts include noise near the work area.

  • Bike lanes will be closed and bikes will ride with traffic.
  • The sidewalk on the north side of Western Blvd. will be closed. Pedestrians traveling on Western Blvd. between 30th and 35th St. may detour around the area using the south sidewalk.
  • Access to local driveways will be maintained and signage will be posted to keep the Western Building driveways clear while the intersection signal is shut down.

As part of a project led by the city of Corvallis, the traffic signal at the intersection of SW Washington Way and SW 15th St. will be shut down on Thursday, April 10 from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. to allow for installation of a new signal. Flaggers will be present to control traffic in all directions. Pedestrians may be redirected via signage as necessary.

  • The entrance to Deon St. from Western Blvd. will be closed. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained.
  • Bike lanes will be closed and bikes will ride with traffic.
