Effective Date(s): February 23^rd, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.

As part of the Washington Way Improvement project, crosswalks will be closed on a rotating schedule at the intersection of 26^th St. and Washington Way. The work will impact only one crosswalk at a time, while maintaining alternate pedestrian routes in the other three directions.

The intersection will remain open to vehicle traffic throughout the day. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic and assist pedestrians.

The exact timing of each closure may vary, but the approximate schedule is as follows. From 7 – 10 a.m., the Washington Way crosswalk on the east side of 26^th St. will be closed for north/south travel. From 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., the 26^th St. crosswalk on the north side of Washington Way will be closed for east/west travel. From 3 – 6 p.m., the Washington Way crosswalk on the west side of 26^th St. will be closed for north/south travel. All other crossings will remain open when these individual crosswalks close.

The work zone will be moving from 17^th street down to the Tennis Pavilion throughout the course of the day. Other potential impacts include dust, mud and noise near the construction zone.
