The sidewalk on the west side of Gilbert Hall will be closed on Wednesday, June 5th. Pedestrians may use the sidewalk east of Weniger Hall as a detour.

The air handler in Gilbert Hall will be shut down for maintenances March 22, 7:00 am – April 2, 2024 5:00 pm for replacement of coils and sealing the floor and pipes in air handler to prevent leaks. This will affect heat and cooling and building wide and cause reduced airflow and to labs during this time.

On Wednesday, March 27th, 2024 from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm, the parking lot east of Weniger (view map) will be partially closed to accommodate the crane for maintenance work on Gilbert Hall roof.

Heating water will be shut down to Gilbert Hall, Tuesday January 30th, 2024, from 6:30 am -12:00 pm. This critical shutdown is necessary to replace a valve on the heating water return line. Building occupants might experience lower than normal temperatures during this time.

The Gilbert Hall elevator will be out of service effective Wednesday, September 27. Due to the need for repair and specialized parts, this is expected to be an extended service outage. A temporary, ADA-accessible ramp will be constructed on the east side of the building which will allow access to the first floor classroom. The ramp is currently under construction and is expected to be complete by Monday, October 2.
ADA access to the Gilbert Hall basement will remain available from the NW Monroe Avenue entrance. Access to the second and third floors will be available via the Gilbert Hall Addition across the bridge into Gilbert Hall.

Convergint will be conducting annual fire alarm & sprinkler testing. Testing will take place in the buildings listed below. The testing will be brief and include both sounding of alarms and strobes. As part of the testing building occupants may notice occasional beeping coming from the fire panel and horns and strobe lights activating throughout the building. Signage will be posted on exterior doors while testing is being conducted.
