3/20-3/22: May Ave. Closure Between 15th & 16th St. Near Pride Center

As part of the Pride Center Renovation project, a section of SW May Ave. will be closed between SW 15th and SW 16th Streets starting Wednesday, March 20 through Friday, March 22. The closure will be in effect from 7 A.M. to 1 P.M. daily.

The SW A Ave. entrance to the parking lot west of the Pride Center will be closed under a previous notification. The exit lane will remain open.

Several parking spaces on the north side of May Ave. will be closed, but all other parking will remain open during this closure. Drivers may access the Cascade Hall South and the S. 17th St./A Ave. parking lots from the 15th St. or 17th St. entrances.

The map shows a closure at the SW A Ave. entrance to the parking lot west of the Pride Center. Alternate entrances are marked on SW 15th and SW 17th Streets. A section of May Ave. and several parking spaces are marked as closed between 15th and 16th Streets.

3/19 – 3/22: Pride Center Parking Lot Entrance Closed

As part of the Pride Center Renovation project, the entrance to the B2 parking lot on SW A Avenue (west of the Pride Center) will be closed starting Tuesday, March 19 through Friday, March 22. This closure will be in effect from 7 A.M. to 1 P.M. daily. The parking lot will remain fully open. The entrance lane will be closed; the exit lane will remain open.

Alternate entrances will be available on SW 17th St. and SW 15th St.

The map shows a closure at the SW A Ave. entrance to the parking lot west of the Pride Center. Alternate entrances are marked on SW 15th and SW 17th Streets.

3/19 – 3/22: Benton Place Sidewalk & Parking Space Closure

As part of the Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts project, the west sidewalk on SW Benton Place will be closed between SW Langton Place and SW Washington Way starting Tuesday, March 19 through Friday, March 22. Three street parking spaces will also be closed near the intersection of Benton Place and Washington Way.

Pedestrian detour

  • From Washington Way: take Washington Way east to 15th St., proceed north to Jefferson Way and then west to Benton Place. Use the west sidewalk on Benton Place to travel south to Langton Place.
  • From Langton Place: using the west sidewalk, take Benton Place north to Jefferson Way. Travel east to 15th St. and proceed south to Washington Way.
  • From Jefferson Way: take Jefferson Way east to 15th St. and proceed south to Washington Way

Other possible impacts include noise near the work site.

The map shows a closure of the west sidewalk on Benton Place between Langton Place and Washington Way. Three street parking spaces on Benton Place near the intersection at Washington Way are marked as closed. A pedestrian detour is marked starting at Langton Place and proceeding north along the west sidewalk to Jefferson Way, south along 15th St. and west along Washington Way.

3/15: Orchard Ave. Between 27th – 30th St. Resuming Two-Way Traffic

NW Orchard Ave. will resume two-way traffic between NW 27th and NW 30th Streets starting on Friday, March 15 at 3 P.M. The street was previously limited to one-way traffic due to construction activity related to the Cordley Hall Renewal project.

3/13 – 3/15: Pride Center Parking Lot Entrance Closed

As part of the Pride Center Renovation project, the entrance to the B2 parking lot on SW A Avenue (west of the Pride Center) will be closed starting Wednesday, March 13 through Friday, March 15. This closure will be in effect from 7 A.M. to 1 P.M. daily. The entrance lane will be closed; the exit lane will remain open.

Alternate entrances will be available on SW 17th St. and SW 15th St. Other possible impacts include noise near the work site.

UPDATE: Cordley Hall Area Noise Notification Extended Through 3/12

This is an update to a previous notification.


Due to an emergency sewer line repair associated with the Cordley Hall Renewal project, a vacuum truck will be working in the area just east of Cordley Hall through Tuesday, March 12. This work may result in noise impacts for building occupants and the surrounding area.

The map shows a work area on the east side of Cordley Hall.

3/12 – 3/15: Campus Way Closed Between 26th St. & Memorial Pl.

As part of the Kelly District Utility Plant project, Campus Way will be closed between 26th St. and Memorial Place starting Tuesday, March 12 through Friday, March 15 to allow for crane activity. The south entrance of Kelley Engineering Center will be closed.

The north sidewalk in this section of Campus Way will be closed to pedestrians. The south sidewalk will remain open as a detour.

The map shows a road and sidewalk closure on Campus Way between 26th St. and Memorial Place. The roadway is marked as closed. The south entrance at Kelley Engineering Center is marked as closed. The north sidewalk is marked as closed. The south sidewalk is marked as open.

Bicycle lanes in this section of Campus Way will be closed in both directions. A bicycle detour will be available along the walkway on the south side of Milam Hall.

The map shows a bicycle detour along 26th St. to the walkway on the south side of Milam Hall to Memorial Place.

3/6 – 3/7: 26th St. Lane & Sidewalk Closure Near Dixon Rec Center

As part of the Washington Way Improvement project, a section of the southbound lane on 26th St. will be closed just north of Washington Way. The west sidewalk will be closed between the crosswalk at Dixon Recreation Center and Washington Way. This closure will take place on Wednesday, March 6 and Thursday, March 7.

Flaggers will be present to direct traffic in both directions around the closure. Drivers should expect delays.

Pedestrians traveling southbound should cross 26th St. at Dixon Recreation Center and use the east sidewalk to continue south. Pedestrians traveling northbound should cross 26th St. at Washington Way and use the east sidewalk to continue north.

Other possible impacts include noise, dust and mud near the worksite.

The map shows a closure in the southbound lane of 26th St., just north of Washington Way. A section of the west sidewalk, between the crosswalk at Dixon Rec Center and Washington Way, is also marked as closed. A pedestrian detour is marked along the east sidewalk.

Permanent Closure of Park Terrace Place Parking Lots (A2) Starting 3/18

As part of the Jen-Hsun & Lori Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex project, the Park Terrace St. East and Park Terrace St. West (A2) parking lots will be permanently closed, starting Monday, March 18. The impacted parking lots are located north of Johnson Hall and Plageman Student Health Center.

SW Park Terrace Place will also be permanently closed north of Plageman Student Health Center. Construction fencing will be placed around the area in preparation for further construction activity.

The map shows the Park Terrace St. East and Park Terrace St. West parking lots, bordering NW Monroe Ave. Both parking lots are marked as closed.

  • Weinger Hall East Lot – five ADA spaces
  • Memorial Place – Central Campus (west of People’s Park) – two ADA spaces
  • Bates Hall North Lot – four ADA spaces

Pedestrian impacts

  • A section of the south sidewalk on Monroe Ave. between 26th St. and Memorial Place will be closed for the duration of the project.
    • Pedestrians may cross Monroe Ave. at 26th St. or Memorial Place and use the north sidewalk as a detour.
  • A section of the east sidewalk on 26th St. between Johnson Hall and the CEOAS Administration Building will be closed.
    • Pedestrians may use the west sidewalk and the crosswalk at the CEOAS Administration building as a detour.
  • The walkway between Johnson Hall and Plageman Student Health Center be closed.
  • The walkway south of the Lonnie B. Harris Black Cultural Center will be closed.
  • The walkway north of Johnson Hall will be closed.
