This closure will occur in two phases.

7/8: A section of NW Orchard Ave. between NW 27th and NW 30th St. will be fully closed to all vehicle traffic to allow for street and sewer repair work.

7/9 – 7/12: The westbound lane on NW Orchard Ave. between NW 27th and NW 30th St. will be closed. Vehicles will be limited to one-way, eastbound traffic only.

Access to the North District Utility Plant and the Cordley Hall West loading dock will be available via a detour along SW Campus Way east to the fire lane west of Cordley Hall.

The south sidewalk in this section of Orchard Ave. will be closed July 8 – 12. The north sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians.

Other possible impacts include noise near the work site.

SW Washington Way will remain closed between SW Benton Place and SW 17th St. through Friday, July 19. The sidewalk on the north side of Washington Way will also be closed in this area.

As part of ongoing construction projects in the north campus area, there will be a planned power outage affecting all floors of Weniger Hall and Plageman Hall on Wednesday, July 10 from 7 A.M. to 4 P.M.

Weniger Hall will be closed during this outage. No access to the building will be permitted during this time frame.

Four service parking spaces in the Weniger Hall East lot will be closed to allow a trailer-mounted generator to be installed.

Please note: Backup generators for critical equipment are available on a very limited basis. Please contact Brandon Holden at Facilities Services if you need assistance.

What do you need to do to prepare for this outage? 
Please make sure that all computers, printers, copiers and other electronic devices are turned off prior to Wednesday, July 10. If you have an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), also known as a battery back-up, please be sure to turn it off as well. 

Employees scheduled to work when buildings are without power should consult with their supervisors regarding work schedules. For more information regarding work scheduling, please refer to the instructions regarding Interruptions of University Operations.

Facilities Services will be performing annual load bank testing for the below listed building emergency/ stand-by generators.  Each test will take approximately 3 hours. There may be excessive noise and possible exhaust fume odors associated with testing.  Each generator will be refueled after testing.
