As part of the Washington Way Improvement project, the east-west pedestrian crosswalk on the north side of the intersection at 26th St. and Washington Way will be closed on Wednesday, March 1. The remaining three crosswalks on the east, west and south sides of the intersection will remain open for pedestrians.

The intersection will remain open to vehicle traffic throughout the day. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic and assist pedestrians. Other possible impacts include mud, dust and noise near the construction site.

As part of the Community Hall Slopes project, the walkway located on the south side of the Pharmacy Building will be closed for handrail installation from 2/27 – 3/10/23. The ADA parking spaces in the south Pharmacy/Furman parking lot will also be closed during this time. ADA access to buildings in the area will be maintained. Minor noise impacts are also possible.

As part of the Washington Way Improvement project, crosswalks will be closed on a rotating schedule at the intersection of 26th St. and Washington Way. The work will impact only one crosswalk at a time, while maintaining alternate pedestrian routes in the other three directions.

The intersection will remain open to vehicle traffic throughout the day. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic and assist pedestrians.

The exact timing of each closure may vary, but the approximate schedule is as follows. From 7 – 10 a.m., the Washington Way crosswalk on the east side of 26th St. will be closed for north/south travel. From 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., the 26th St. crosswalk on the north side of Washington Way will be closed for east/west travel. From 3 – 6 p.m., the Washington Way crosswalk on the west side of 26th St. will be closed for north/south travel. All other crossings will remain open when these individual crosswalks close.

As part of the Whyte Track and Field Center project, the parking lot adjacent to the track and the softball stadium will be closed from 2/20/23 – 8/15/23, except for special events. Pedestrians may access the track via an alternate route between the softball complex and the soccer field. Other possible impacts include noise, dust and mud near the construction site.

2/24/2023: Hot water has been restored.

The domestic hot water is shut down in Austin Hall for emergency repairs as of February 17, 2023. This will affect all domestic hot water building wide. The restoral of domestic hot water is unknown currently due to the repair requiring a specialty part. A second notice will follow when the repair is complete and domestic hot water has been restored. 

As part of the Pride Center Renovation project, the sidewalk on the north side of SW A Avenue will be closed between 15th and 16th Streets. Three city parking spaces in front of the Pride Center will also be closed. The crosswalk and south sidewalk will remain open to pedestrians. Other possible impacts include noise, dust and mud near the construction site.

As part of the Washington Way Improvement project, Washington Way between 17th & 26th streets will be closed to vehicle traffic to allow for storm drain installation. Pedestrian access will be maintained along the walkway on the south side of Washington Way.

As part of the Pride Center Renovation project, the SW 16th St. entrance to the parking lot directly west of the Pride Center (SW 17th St./SW A Ave.) will be closed on Feb. 10th from 8AM – 11AM. All other entrances to the parking lot will remain open. Please see map for alternate routes.
