As part of the Washington Way Improvement project, flaggers will be directing traffic on SW Washington Way between SW 30th and SW 35th St. on Thursday, May 8. Drivers should expect minor delays.

The SW 30th – 35th section of Washington Way will be fully closed to vehicles on Friday, May 9, to allow for final paving.

As part of the Washington Way Improvement project, the intersection at SW 17th St. and SW Washington Way will be closed starting on Wednesday, May 7 through Friday, May 23.

The driveway to Cascade Hall from 17th St. will be closed along with the intersection with May Ave. on the west side of 17th St.

The north-south crosswalk at Washington Way and 17th St. will be closed. Detours are available at SW 15th St. or the mid-block crossing at the Dixon Rec Center/Goss Stadium driveway.

As part of the ongoing waterline replacement project conducted by the city of Corvallis, construction work will continue on SW 35th St. during the week of May 5 – 9. Please see below details and impacts.

  • Work will be continuing on SW 35th St., north of SW Sagebrush Dr.
  • SW 35th St. will remain closed to through traffic between Western Blvd. and Washington Way.
  • Local access to the Western Building parking lot and SW Sagebrush Dr. will be maintained during this closure.
  • Every effort will be made to keep the Beaver Bus stop at the Western Building open. If detours or bus stop changes occur, they will be posted on the Beaver Bus Route Changes page.
  • Changes to city bus stops will be posted at the physical location and will be noted on the city’s website.
  • On-street bike travel will not be permitted through the work zone. Alternate bicycle routes could include SW Sagebrush Dr., SW 30th St. or SW 26th St.
  • Sidewalks in the area will remain open.

This is an update to a previous notification.

The city waterline project is ahead of schedule and progressing north on SW 35th St. Please see the information below for changes in effect for Wednesday afternoon and Thursday.

OSU Western Building parking lot

  • The south parking lot entrance is now open.  This will be the entrance/exit while waterline construction has the north entrance closed.
  • Waterline installation will keep the north entrance closed for remainder of Wednesday, 4/30 and part of the day on Thursday, 5/1.
  • Please approach the Western Building parking lot from SW Western Blvd. There will no longer be access to this parking lot from the north on SW 35th St.
  • Pedestrians should plan to use the east sidewalk on 35th St. to detour around the construction zone.

These changes apply to Wednesday, 4/30 and Thursday, 5/1 only. Please see the original notification for further information about this project. A map is also available.

The restrooms in Owen Hall will be shut down and closed in the entire building beginning May 16, 6:00 am thru May 20, 2025 8:00 am due to removal of lavatories and faucets while the contractor refurbishes the countertops. During this time, please use restrooms in adjacent buildings.

As part of the Gilkey Hall Renovation project, the sidewalk between Gilkey Hall and Strand Hall will be closed on Thursday, May 1 to accommodate a boom lift working in the area. Pedestrians exiting Strand on the north side of the building may detour around the closure by traveling west on the walkway through People’s Park.

As part of the Washington Way Improvement project, the Washington Way multi-use path on the south side of Washington Way will be closed starting Wednesday, April 30 through Saturday, May 31. The mid-block crossing at Goss Stadium will remain open. SW May Way will be closed to vehicle traffic, with the exception of delivery vehicles.

The existing sidewalk closure on the west side of SW Memorial Place near Kelley Engineering Center will continue through August 15.  The east sidewalk will be open for pedestrians.

The walkway between KEC and Plageman will remain closed.

The east entrance to KEC will remain open.
