This is an update on a water pipeline and road improvement project led by the city of Corvallis. Work is expected to continue through September 2025.

Impacts on SW 35th St. for 8/4 – 8/22

  • Full closure of SW 35th St. at the Oak Creek bridge starts Monday, August 4th through Friday, August 22.
  • The bridge will remain fully closed to ALL traffic, including emergency vehicles.
  • Drivers may use SW 30th or SW 15th St. as a north-south detour route.
  • SW 35th St. will remain open to traffic on both the north and south sides of the bridge, with local access for OSU facilities and private residences, but no traffic will be allowed to cross. The bridge will remain closed overnight and through weekends.
  • Bike lanes on SW 35th St. will be closed. Sidewalks will remain open.

Impacts on SW Western Blvd. for 8/4 – 8/7

Paving work will also occur on Western Blvd. during this time frame and traffic impacts in this area are expected.

  • 8/4 – 8/5: Western Blvd. closed between Hwy 20/Philomath Blvd. and the intersection with SW West Hills Rd.
    • Drivers should plan to use Hwy 20 to SW 35th St. as a detour.
  • 8/6 – 8/7: Western Blvd. fully closed between SW 26th and SW 15th St.
    • Drivers should plan to use Hwy 20 as a detour route. (see map below)
  • Sidewalk ADA ramp work will be completed at the Western Blvd./SW 15th St. intersection.

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant Project, SW Memorial Place will be closed between SW Campus Way and Plageman Student Health Center to allow for crane activity and equipment delivery. The closure will be in effect starting Monday, August 4 from 5 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.

The east entrance to Kelley Engineering Center may be intermittently unavailable. Service parking spaces in this section of Memorial Place will be closed. The east sidewalk on Memorial Place will remain open for pedestrians.

As part of the Jen-Hsun Huang and Lori Mills Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex project, SW 26th St. will be closed between SW Campus Way and NW Monroe Ave. on Wednesday, July 23 from 5:30 A.M until 6:30 A.M.

After the road reopens, flaggers will be present to direct traffic throughout the day.

As part of the Corvallis Campus Housing and Dining Vision project, three B2 parking lots located between Bloss Hall, the LaSells Stewart Center and the CH2M Hill Alumni Center will be permanently closed starting on Monday, July 14. The closure area includes the roadway and sidewalks on SW Stadium Ave. between SW Western Blvd. and Bloss Hall.

This closure is needed to accommodate construction of a new residence hall. Please see the project webpage for details. Construction will continue on this project through summer 2027. SW Stadium Ave. will be reopened to allow access to the OSU parking garage from SW Western Blvd. for game days and other preplanned events.

The following parking lots will be closed:

  • 3259 – LaSells Stewart Center East Lot
  • 3270 – Bloss Hall South Lot
  • 3273 – Bloss Hall West Lot

As part of the Washington Way Improvement project, a section of SW Washington Way will be closed between SW 15th and SW 26th St. starting Monday, June 30 – Tuesday, July 1. The intersections at SW 17th St. and SW Benton Place will be closed. The closure is necessary to complete pavement striping work in the area.

The crosswalks at Benton Place and SW 17th St. will be closed. The crosswalk at SW 15th St. and the mid-block crossing between Goss Stadium and Dixon Recreation Center will be available. The sidewalks on the north and south sides of Washington Way will remain open.

Please note: this closure will occur in two phases.

Tuesday, 5/20: a section of the north sidewalk and cycle track on Washington Way will be fully closed at the SE corner of Goss Stadium. The multi-use path on the south side of Washington Way will also be unavailable due to a separate closure. For this one-day sidewalk closure, pedestrians will detour around the work zone via the closed roadway. Signs will be in place to direct pedestrians.

Wednesday, 5/21 – Friday, June 6: the work zone will shift to the roadway. Washington Way will be fully closed in both directions between the Goss/Dixon driveway and SW Benton Place (SE corner of Goss Stadium). The intersection at 17th St. and Washington Way will be closed. Pedestrians should plan to use the north sidewalk, due to the closure of the south multi-use path.

As part of the Jen-Hsun Huang and Lori Mills Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex project, SW 26th St. will be closed between NW Orchard Ave. and NW Monroe Ave. on Saturday, May 17 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The east sidewalk will be closed in this area. The west sidewalk will remain open.

As part of the Washington Way Improvement project, flaggers will be directing traffic on SW Washington Way between SW 30th and SW 35th St. on Thursday, May 8. Drivers should expect minor delays.

The SW 30th – 35th section of Washington Way will be fully closed to vehicles on Friday, May 9, to allow for final paving.

As part of the Washington Way Improvement project, the intersection at SW 17th St. and SW Washington Way will be closed starting on Wednesday, May 7 through Friday, May 23.

The driveway to Cascade Hall from 17th St. will be closed along with the intersection with May Ave. on the west side of 17th St.

The north-south crosswalk at Washington Way and 17th St. will be closed. Detours are available at SW 15th St. or the mid-block crossing at the Dixon Rec Center/Goss Stadium driveway.
