As part of the Pride Center Renovation project, the sidewalk on the north side of SW A Avenue will be closed between 15th and 16th Streets. Three city parking spaces in front of the Pride Center will also be closed. The crosswalk and south sidewalk will remain open to pedestrians. Other possible impacts include noise, dust and mud near the construction site.

As part of the Washington Way Improvement project, east-west pedestrian access along Washington Way between 17th & 26th Streets will be rerouted at the 17th & 26th Street intersections. Pedestrians traveling east-west along the north sidewalk will be detoured across Washington Way to an ADA-accessible walkway. The north sidewalk between 17th & 26th Streets will be closed starting on 1/23/23 through the duration of this project.

Other possible impacts include noise, dust and mud near the construction site.

As part of the Community Hall Slope project, the walkway on the south side of the Pharmacy building and the ADA parking spots in the south Pharmacy/Furman parking lot will be closed to allow for handrail installation. Garbage trucks will have access to the trash enclosure. Alternative pedestrian access will be available and ADA access to buildings will be maintained.

Other possible impacts include minor noise from drilling concrete.

As part of the Arts and Education Complex project, the sidewalk on the west side of SW 15th Street between SW Jefferson Way and SW Washington Ways will be closed to accommodate steel erection near the sidewalk. Work is scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday, October 10, 2022.

From Monday, September 12, 2022 through Tuesday, September 13, 2022, contractors will be onsite at George W. Peavy Forest Science Center replacing a pane of glass on the third floor of the building. A 60-foot lift will be onsite and the sidewalk located on the east side of the building in the small arboretum area will be roped off. Pedestrians can access the building from the north entrance.

For work related to the Washington Way Improvement Project, multiple sidewalk closures are scheduled between SW 26th Street, SW Benton Place & SW Washington Way. Sidewalk closures are scheduled to start at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 through 5 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2022.

As part of the Cordley Hall Renewal Project, the north/south sidewalk on the east side of Cordley Hall will be closed due to construction activities from Friday, August 5, 2022 until June 2024.

This sidewalk is between Cordley Hall, Bates Hall and the Hallie E. Ford Center. The closure is between SW Campus Way and SW Orchard Ave.

For work related to the Community Hall Slope Project, there will be a closure of the fire lane and sidewalk south of the Valley Library along SW Jefferson Way (view map). The closure of the fire lane and sidewalk has been extended through Friday, July 22, 2022. As part of the planned work, grinding, saw cutting, and concrete and asphalt demolition will occur.
