2/5 – Stadium Ave. & Beth Ray Center Alley Closures

As part of the Beth Ray Center Solar project, there will be road, sidewalk and crosswalk closures due to crane activity on SW Stadium Ave. and the alley behind the Beth Ray Center.

This closure will occur in two phases on Monday, February 5.

The first closure is scheduled from 6:00 – 7:00 A.M. This closure will impact the alley behind the Beth Ray Center. Flaggers will be present to direct vehicle traffic through the area. Access to the 26th St. parking garage will be maintained. The crosswalk between the Beth Ray Center and Arnold Dining Hall will be closed along with the sidewalk east of the Beth Ray Center

The second closure is scheduled from 7:00 – 8:00 A.M. This closure will impact SW Stadium Ave. on the south side of the Beth Ray Center. The road will be closed, along with a section of sidewalk on both sides of Stadium Ave. The reserved parking spots, the dumpster access area and the loading dock on the south side of Stadium Ave. will also be closed during this time.

The second closure is marked on SW Stadium Ave., south of the Beth Ray Center. The sidewalk is marked as closed on both sides of the street along with the reserved parking spots, the dumpster area and the loading dock on the south side of Stadium Ave.

1/8 – Kerr South Parking Lot, Entrance & Walkway Reopening

The Kerr South Parking Lot will reopen for vehicle parking on Monday, January 8.

The south entrance to the Kerr Administration Building will also reopen on Monday, January 8 along with the walkway on the west side of the building. The east entrance to Kerr will remain open, but the sidewalk east of the building, along SW 15th St., will remain closed until further notice.

The map shows an accessible route along the walkway west of the Kerr Administration Building to the south entrance. The east entrance to the building is marked as open. A section of sidewalk east of the building is marked as closed.

1/5 – 26th St. & Orchard Ave. Intersection Closure

As part of the Jen-Hsun & Lori Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex project, the intersection at SW 26th Street and NW Orchard Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic on Friday, January 5 to allow for construction activity.

The north-south crosswalk on Orchard Ave. will be closed for pedestrians. The sidewalks in the area will remain open, except for a section of sidewalk on the east side of the intersection, directly in front of Johnson Hall. The loading dock north of Johnson Hall will be closed except for pre-arranged deliveries.

Bike lanes in the area will be closed.

The map shows an intersection closure at NW Orchard Ave. and SW 26th St.

1/3/24: SW Stadium Drive closed for crane work, includes east and west sidewalks

As part of work for the LaSells Stewart Roof/Mechanical Replacement project, SW Stadium Drive will be closed for crane work on Wednesday, January 3 from 7:30 AM until 4:30 PM. The east and west sidewalks on SW Stadium Dr. will be closed during this time.

12/28: SW Campus Way between SW 35th and SW 30 Sts one lane flagged traffic control & sidewalk closure

As part of work for the West Greenhouse project, SW Campus Way will be one vehicle lane only with flaggers for landscaping work on 12/28/23 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. The sidewalk on the north side of the street will be detoured to the south side of SW Campus Way.

12/28-12/29: SW Memorial Pl and sidewalk between Kelley Engineering Center and Plageman Hall closed for tree work

As part of work for the Kelley District Utility Plant project, SW Memorial Place and the sidewalk between Kelley Engineering Center and Plageman Hall will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic starting Thursday, December 28 through Friday, December 29 daily from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM so that tree work can be conducted. Access to adjacent buildings will be open with protective fencing in place.

UPDATE: 26th St. & Orchard Ave. Intersection Closure Extended Through 12/20

This is an update to a previous notification.

The intersection at SW 26th St. and NW Orchard Ave. will remain closed through Wednesday, December 20.

The map shows an intersection and crosswalk closure at NW Orchard Ave. and SW 26th St., near Johnson Hall.

UPDATE: SW Jefferson Way Closure Location Change

This is an update to a previous notification.

The location of this closure has been changed. The SW Jefferson Way closure scheduled for Monday, December 18 – Friday, December 22 has been moved to the west and will now begin at the Student Experience Center and extend to SW 26th St. This will open up SW Waldo Place for northbound vehicle traffic. The sidewalk closure will remain unchanged. See updated map below.

The map shows a road and sidewalk closure on SW Jefferson Way from SW Waldo Place to SW 26th Street. The north sidewalk is marked as closed in front of Memorial Union. The south sidewalk is marked as a detour.

12/18 – Upcoming Washington Way Changes & Closures

This is an update on the Washington Way Improvement Project.  

Please note that multiple projects will be starting and ending in the area over the next few weeks and months. See below for details.

Washington Way Closed Between 26th – 30th St. Starting Dec. 18

Washington Way between 26th and 30th St. will be closed for construction starting on Monday, December 18 and continuing through the winter and spring 2024 terms.

The map shows a road and sidewalk closure on SW Washington Way between SW 26th and SW 30th St.

Washington Way 17th – 26th St. Reopening Jan. 5

Construction activity between 17th and 26th St. will be finishing up over the next few weeks, depending on the weather. This section of Washington Way is expected to reopen by Friday, January 5. The two-way cycle track will also be opening and a separate Campus Notification will follow regarding the traffic pattern change in the area.

Washington Way & 26th Street Construction During Winter Break

During the period between December 18 and January 5, Washington Way will be closed all the way from 17th to 30th St. The north sidewalk will be closed. The multi-use path on the south side of Washington Way will be open for pedestrians.

In addition, the intersection at 26th St. and Washington Way will be closed from December 18 through December 29. The intersection will be closed in ALL DIRECTIONS. This is a significant change to the notification sent on 12/14 regarding this closure. The sidewalks will be closed on both sides of 26th Street from Washington Way to Dixon Recreation Center.
