As part of ongoing construction projects in the north campus area, there will be a planned power outage affecting all floors of Weniger Hall and Plageman Hall on Wednesday, July 10 from 7 A.M. to 4 P.M.

Weniger Hall will be closed during this outage. No access to the building will be permitted during this time frame.

Four service parking spaces in the Weniger Hall East lot will be closed to allow a trailer-mounted generator to be installed.

Please note: Backup generators for critical equipment are available on a very limited basis. Please contact Brandon Holden at Facilities Services if you need assistance.

What do you need to do to prepare for this outage? 
Please make sure that all computers, printers, copiers and other electronic devices are turned off prior to Wednesday, July 10. If you have an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), also known as a battery back-up, please be sure to turn it off as well. 

Employees scheduled to work when buildings are without power should consult with their supervisors regarding work schedules. For more information regarding work scheduling, please refer to the instructions regarding Interruptions of University Operations.

As part of the ALS Controls Upgrade project, a crane will be working in the alley behind the Agricultural and Life Sciences building on Monday, June 24.

The alley will be closed to vehicle traffic. The ALS loading dock will be closed. The parking spaces located in the alley behind the Learning Innovation Center, Hovland Hall, Gilmore Hall and the Women’s Building will be closed. No vehicle access to the alley or the parking spaces will be permitted while the crane is working.

All entrances to the ALS building will remain open.

The sidewalk on the south side of the alley will remain open for pedestrians.

Other possible impacts include noise near the work site.

As part of the Richardson Hall Controls project, a crane will be working in the Forest Science Lab parking lot on Thursday, June 13 from 8 A.M. to 3 P.M. Ten parking spaces will be closed during this time frame. The west entrance of Richardson Hall will be closed intermittently while the crane is operating.

Other possible impacts include noise near the worksite.

Vehicles may also enter May Ave. from 17th St. to access the parking lot west of the Pride Center or parking around Cascade Hall, but no through traffic behind the Pride Center will be permitted. The crane work on SW Memorial Place near Kelley Engineering Center has been completed and the street, parking spaces and sidewalk will reopen on Tuesday, May 21 at 4 P.M.

As part of the Goss Baseball Hitting Building project, a section of the southbound lane on Benton Place will be closed intermittently on Wednesday, April 10 and Thursday, April 11. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic through the area. The closure area will be located near the intersection at Washington Way.

Six street parking spaces will be closed on the west side of Benton Place.

In addition, the west sidewalk on Benton Place will be closed between Langton Place and Washington Way, starting near Snell Hall. Pedestrians may use the south sidewalk on Langton Place, the walkway on the west side of Goss Stadium and the north sidewalk on Washington Way to detour around the closure.

Other possible impacts include noise near the worksite.

The sidewalk and parking spaces bordering the Pride Center, on the north side of SW A Ave., will be closed to repair the sidewalk and install lighting. Pedestrians may use the south sidewalk along SW A Ave. as a detour.

Most parking spaces and sidewalks will be reopened for use with four spots on the west side closed for a boom lift through Wednesday, April 3.  ADA access to Fairbanks Hall is open on the east side of the building.  ADA access is closed on the west side of Fairbanks Hall through Wednesday, April 3.
