This is an update on a water pipeline and road improvement project led by the city of Corvallis. Work is expected to continue through September 2025. Impacts for the week of April 14th – 18th

  • Traffic on Western Blvd. between West Hills Rd. and SW 35th St. will be limited to a single lane and controlled by flaggers. All lanes will reopen at the end of each workday.
  • The signal at SW 35th St. and Western Blvd. will be shut down and become a four-way stop. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic. The intersection will remain open in all directions. The signal will be restored at the end of each workday.
  • Bike lanes will be closed and bikes will ride with traffic.
  • The sidewalk on the north side of Western Blvd. will be closed. Pedestrians traveling on Western Blvd. between 30th and 35th St. may detour around the area using the south sidewalk.
  • Access to local driveways will be maintained and signage will be posted to keep the Western Building driveways clear while the intersection signal is shut down.
  • Temporary changes to CTS bus stops are possible. See https://www.corvallisoregon.gov/cts for city bus information.

Please note: a full closure of the SW 35th St./Western Blvd. intersection is scheduled to start on April 28th. Details regarding this closure will be available in the next update.

As part of a project led by the city of Corvallis, the traffic signal at the intersection of SW Washington Way and SW 15th St. will be shut down on Thursday, April 10 from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. to allow for installation of a new signal. Flaggers will be present to control traffic in all directions. Pedestrians may be redirected via signage as necessary.

  • The signal at 35th St. and Western Blvd. will be shut down and become a four-way stop. Temporary stop signs will be in place. The intersection will remain open in all directions. The signal will be restored at the end of each workday.
  • The entrance to Deon St. from Western Blvd. will be closed. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained.
  • Bike lanes will be closed and bikes will ride with traffic.

SW 35th St. will be closed to through traffic between Western Blvd. and Washington Way on Friday, March 28. Local access to buildings and parking lots on 35th St. will be permitted. Detours will be in place for through traffic. Western Blvd. will remain open for east-west travel during this closure.

The city of Corvallis will be conducting a sewer line project on SW Campus Way on Wednesday, March 26 from 8:30 A.M. until 12 P.M. This work will occur directly in front of the Seed Laboratory and require single lane closures in this section of Campus Way. Flaggers will be present to direct vehicles. Sidewalks in the area will remain open.

The city of Corvallis will be conducting a long-term construction project to replace a water pipeline on SW 35th St. and SW Western Blvd. Work is slated to begin at the end of March and is expected to continue over the summer.

The city plans to begin work on SW Western Blvd. and then move to SW 35th St. later this spring. Along with the new water pipeline, the city will be improving pedestrian crossings, adding buffered bike lanes in some sections of roadway and repaving both streets.

The Corvallis Public Works Department stated that detours for vehicles would be in place for road closures and any disruptions in water service would be communicated to affected buildings 48 hours in advance. Local access to residences, businesses and other buildings will be maintained during this project.

Once the city’s construction schedule is finalized, notifications regarding campus road closures and other impacts will be available on the Campus Notifications blog, where subscribers can receive updates via email.

Emergency Street Shutdown Westbound lane at the intersection of 30th and Washington Way due to an apparent water main break. The City of Corvallis has been contacted and is en route to repair, unknown time of restoration.  Additional lane closures could occur as the work progresses. Magruder Hall will experience reduced water pressure while this repair is being performed.

Notice: NW Harrison Blvd full closure (24/7) between NW 31st St and NW 34th St.

Effective Date: September 20 – September 30, 2021

As part of the 2021-22 Street Resurfacing Project along NW Harrison Blvd, NW Harrison Blvd will be closed 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week between NW 31st St. and NW 34th St from September 20 – 30, 2021. Detours will be put into place.

From October 1 – October 12, NW Harrison Blvd will be closed between NW 29th St and NW Merrie Dr during the day, and open overnight. NW Harrison Blvd will be open all day on October 2 for the OSU home football game. A separate notice will be sent for this closure.
