The steam system will be shut down in the Agricultural & Life Sciences Building starting Tuesday, August 22 at 4:30 P.M. The system is expected to resume normal operations on Friday, August 25 at 10:00 A.M.

The shutdown will allow for necessary steam pipe repairs and equipment replacement. This shutdown will impact all floors in the ALS building. During the shutdown, autoclaves, drying cabinets, humidifiers and hot water in laboratories will be unavailable.

The hot water in breakrooms and restrooms will not be impacted by this shutdown.

As part of the Kerr South Parking Lot project, SW 15th St. will be closed in both directions between SW Washington Ave. and SW Jefferson Way. This closure will be in effect from Tuesday, August 22 until Tuesday, September 5.

The crosswalk at 15th St. and Washington Ave. will also be closed along with the east sidewalk between Washington Ave. and SW Adams Ave. Please refer to the pedestrian detour information below.

Please note: SW Washington Way is currently closed between SW 15th St. and SW 26th St., which means that SW Benton Place will not be accessible as a north-south detour option.

Vehicle detour: SW Washington Ave., to SW 11th St. to SW Jefferson Way.

As part of the Memorial Union Roof & Gutter project, the sidewalk on the north side of SW Jefferson Way, directly in front of Memorial Union, will be intermittently closed on Tuesday, August 15 from 6 A.M. to 1 P.M. to allow for crane activity.The south sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians.

Additionally, the loading zone and 30-minute parking spaces on Jefferson Way, in front of Memorial Union, will also be closed.  The street will remain open for vehicle traffic.

As part of the Pedestrian/Bicycle Priority Zone project – Phase 1, SW 26th Street will be closed for restriping between SW Jefferson Way and SW Campus Way and between SW Campus way and NW Orchard Ave. The ADA and service parking spots along SW 26th Street bordering the MU Quad will be closed. Sidewalk access will be open and east/west access on SW Campus and SW Jefferson Ways will be open.

As part of the Cordley Hall Renewal Project, there will be a planned power outage impacting Cordley Hall West on Wednesday, August 9 from 7 A.M. to 8 A.M. The building generator will operate during the outage.

What do you need to do to prepare for this outage? Please make sure that all computers, printers, copiers and other electronic devices are turned off prior to Wednesday, August 9. If you have an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), also known as a battery back-up, please be sure to turn it off as well.

As part of the LaSells Stewart Center Mechanical and Roof Renewal project, a section of the northbound lane on SW 26th St., between SW Western Blvd. and the CH2M HILL Alumni Center, will be closed to allow for crane activity on Wednesday, August 9 from 7  A.M. to 11 A.M. Flaggers will be present in the area to direct traffic.

In addition,  a section of the sidewalk on the east side of 26th St. will be closed along with the crosswalk near the front entrance and the walkway on the north side of The LaSells Stewart Center. The west sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians.

As part of the Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts project, the sidewalk on the west side of SW 15th St. will be closed between SW Washington Way and SW Jefferson Way. The closure will be in effect from Monday, August 7 through Friday, August 18. Pedestrians may detour across 15th St. using the crosswalks at Washington Way or Jefferson Way and use the east sidewalk.

This notice is in addition to a separate sidewalk closure in the area associated with the Kerr South Parking Lot project (see previous notification).

As part of the Washington Way Improvement project, SW Washington Way between SW 15th and SW 26th Streets will be closed to vehicle traffic from Monday, August 7 through Thursday, September 7. This is an update to the existing Washington Way closure.

In addition, the intersection and crosswalks at Washington Way and SW 17th St. will be closed. The sidewalk on the north side of Washington Way between 15th St. and SW Benton Place will also be closed. The multi-use path on the south side of Washington Way will remain open as a pedestrian detour.

Other possible impacts include noise, dust and mud near the work site.

The B2 parking lot east of The LaSells Stewart Center will also be closed. The entrance to SW Stadium Ave. from SW Western Blvd. will be closed. Both the east and west sidewalks on Stadium Ave. directly behind The LaSells Stewart Center will be closed. A vehicle detour will be available from Western Blvd. along the east and north side of the LaSells Stewart Center East parking lot.
