As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, Kelley Engineering Center will be closed for a planned power outage. The building closure and power outage will begin at 5:00 A.M. on Friday, August 1 and end at 5:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 2.
All systems connected to emergency generators will continue to operate during this power outage. The building will be closed to all but the construction team, Facilities Services, and personnel monitoring the server room. Signs will be posted and doors will be locked.
What do you need to do to prepare for this outage?
Please ensure that all electronic devices not connected to emergency power are powered down and that all computers, printers, copiers and other electronic devices are turned off prior to Friday, August 1. If you have an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), also known as a battery back-up, please be sure to turn it off as well.
Employees scheduled to work when buildings are without power should consult with their supervisors regarding work schedules. For more information regarding work scheduling, please refer to the instructions regarding Interruptions of University Operations.
For questions or comments on this closure, contact Project Manager Tarrigon Van Denburg at (714) 390-5313.
