3/21-3/25/2022: Concrete work & sidewalk closure for Fairbanks Hall Renovation Project

As part of the Fairbanks Hall Renovation Project, demolition of the old Fairbanks Annex existing concrete pad, along with the preparation and placement of new concrete for a new transformer pad by the Women’s Building, will occur onsite during the week of Spring Break from Monday, March 21, 2022 through Friday, March 25, 2022.

What to expect:

  • The sidewalk located between the Women’s Building and Fairbanks Hall will be temporarily closed starting Monday, March 21, 2022 through Friday, March 25, 2022.
  • There will be truck traffic in and out of the Fairbanks Hall worksite using the 35th Street/Jefferson Way route. 
  • Expect noise as existing concrete is broken up, demolished and hauled away. The concrete breaking activities will start no earlier than 8 a.m.

3/17-3/18/2022: Main stairway closure at Graf Hall

As part of the Graf Hall Renovation Project, the main stairway in Graf Hall will be closed for flooring installation from Thursday, March 17, 2022 through Friday, March 18, 2022. Please use exits located in the northeast corner of the building or use the bridge to Rogers Hall on the second and third floors.

3/23-3/26/2022: Planned steam shutdowns for multiple buildings in Community Hall Slope Project area

For work related to the Community Hall Slope Project, a series of planned steam shutdowns are scheduled. The planned steam shutdowns will impact multiple buildings located along or near SW Jefferson Way in the Community Hall Slope Project work area. Planned steam shutdowns are scheduled to start on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 through Saturday, March 26, 2022.

The following buildings are included in the planned steam shutdowns:

  • Callahan Hall
  • Gladys Valley Gymnastics Center
  • McNary Dining Hall
  • McNary Hall
  • Pharmacy Building
  • Wilson Hall

3/7-3/17/2022: South entrance to Graf closed starting 3/7 and closure of Monroe Ave. and 16th St. parking lot (lot # 3221) for paving

Update: The closure for parking lot #3221 has been extended through Thursday, March 17, 2022 for paving work.

As part of the Graf Hall Renovation, the Monroe Ave. and 16th Street parking lot (lot #3221) will be closed for paving and ground floor entries to the building will be inaccessible. Excavation and forming for the concrete work will start on Monday, March 7, 2022 and will continue through the paving of the lot. The parking lot will now be closed starting on Thursday, March 10, 2022. Please use caution and watch for workers and equipment in the parking lot during this time.

The south entrance to Graf Hall (on the parking lot side) will be closed starting Monday, March 7. The north building entrance, located along Monroe Ave., will remain open for pedestrians.

3/21-3/22/22: Sackett Hall, Austin Hall & Learning Innovation Center Steam Shutdown

The steam will be shut down in Sackett Hall, Austin Hall and Learning Innovation Center March 21, 4:00 pm – March 22, 2022 5:00 pm to repair a leaking steam gasket. This will affect all steam services, includes heat & hot water building wide.

2/28-3/4/2022: Excavation & utility vault work in parking lot #3221

As part of the Graf Hall Renovation Project, excavation and utility vault work is scheduled to take place in the Monroe Ave. & 16th St. parking lot (lot #3221) from 7 a.m. on Monday, February 28 through 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022. Please use caution when walking and driving in the parking lot and drive aisles.

2/28/2022: Rescheduled planned water shutdown for Furman Hall

For work related to the Community Hall Slope Project, a planned water shutdown at Joyce Collin Furman Hall has been rescheduled for Monday, February 28, 2022 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note that restrooms in the building will not be usable during the planned water shutdown. Restrooms are available in adjacent buildings.
