Due to ongoing construction work, sections of the SW Washington Way multi-use path will continue to be closed through Friday, November 22. Please see schedule below.

SW 30th – 35th St.: multi-use path closed through 11/8

SW 26th – 30th St.: multi-use path closed through 11/22

The cooling water system will be shut down in the Agricultural and Life Sciences Building on Thursday, October 17 from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This shutdown will impact all walk-in coolers and cold rooms, walk-in freezers and cooling systems for environmental control rooms. The doors to these rooms MUST be kept closed to preserve the temperature for the duration of this shutdown.

The shutdown will also impact the third-floor server room, but this room will have portable cooling equipment.

As part of the Richardson Hall Solar project, a crane will be working on the east side of Richardson Hall to lift materials and equipment on to the roof. The driveway and loading area will be closed on the east side of Richardson Hall. The east side entrance to the building will also be closed.

Several parking spaces on the east side of the building will be closed.

As part of the Richardson Hall Chiller and Controls Replacement project, hot and cold laboratory water will be shut down on Tuesday, October 15 from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.

This shutdown will only impact hot and cold water in laboratories. Restrooms and kitchenette water will not be impacted.

As part of the Withycombe Hall Renovation project, a section of the south sidewalk and eastbound lane on SW Campus Way will be closed on Wednesday, October 9. The impacted section is located between SW 30th St. and the Agricultural and Life Sciences Building. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic.

As part of the Valley Library Telecommunication Tower project, SW Jefferson Way will be closed between SW Benton Place and SW Waldo Place on Tuesday, October 8 to allow for crane activity.

The north sidewalk in this section of Jefferson Way will be closed. The south sidewalk will remain open. Flaggers will be present to direct pedestrian traffic.

Westbound traffic on Jefferson Way will be detoured around the area via Benton Place south to Langton Place. Please see map below.

Other possible impacts include noise near the work site.

*Update* – EH&S has asked us to remind building occupants that water will not be available to emergency eyewash/shower units, and occupants should discontinue all hazardous substance use (chemicals, unsealed radioisotopes, and biohazardous materials) for the duration of the shutdown.

Scheduled:  Domestic & Industrial Water Shutdown in Agricultural & Life Sciences Bldg.

Effective Date(s): October 12, 2024, 6:00 am – 12:00 pm.

The domestic and industrial water will be shut down in the Agricultural & Life Sciences Bldg. October 12, 2024, from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm to replace a domestic water backflow device. This will affect all domestic and industrial water building wide. Water will not be available in restrooms, breakrooms or labs.

As part of the Pride Center Renovation project, the north sidewalk on SW A Ave. will be closed between SW 15th and SW 16th Streets on Friday, October 4. The impacted area is located directly in front of the Pride Center. Pedestrians may use the south sidewalk as detour.

Several parking spaces on the north side of SW A Ave. will be closed.

The front entry ramp on the south side of the Pride Center will also be closed.

Other possible impacts include noise, dust and mud near the work site.
