The City of Corvallis and OSU are collaborating on a project to improve the pedestrian crossing at SW 35th St. and SW Campus Way. This work will begin on Monday, June 24 and continue throughout the summer. Starting Monday, traffic cones and signage will be in place to direct vehicles through the work zone. There will be intermittent closures of the bike lanes and bicyclists will be directed to ride with traffic as needed.

Four city parking spaces will be removed on the north-east side of the intersection to accommodate a new pedestrian crossing island.

A full closure of the intersection is currently scheduled for July 22 though August 2. An updated Campus Notification will be sent in mid-July.

Pedestrian Detours

Please note: all crosswalks at this intersection will be closed and sidewalk access will be limited depending on which side of the intersection pedestrians are approaching from. Please read all detour information carefully and view detour map (below) for more information.

Sidewalks will be closed in all directions approaching the intersection and pedestrians will be detoured around the area using temporary pathways at the south-east and north-west corners of the intersection.

  • Pedestrians traveling on the east sidewalk on 35th St. (approaching from the south side) will be detoured onto a temporary pathway and directed to the south sidewalk on Campus Way and may proceed east.
  • Pedestrians traveling on the west sidewalk on 35th St. (approaching from the north side) will detoured onto a temporary pathway and directed to north sidewalk on Campus Way and may proceed west.
  • Pedestrians traveling on the east sidewalk on 35th St. (approaching from the north side) will be detoured across the Campus Way & 35th St. parking lot (B3), to the sidewalk on the east side of the parking lot and onto the north sidewalk on Campus Way and may proceed east.
