As part of ongoing construction projects in the north campus area, there will be a planned power outage affecting all floors of Weniger Hall and Plageman Hall on Wednesday, July 10 from 7 A.M. to 4 P.M.

Weniger Hall will be closed during this outage. No access to the building will be permitted during this time frame.

Four service parking spaces in the Weniger Hall East lot will be closed to allow a trailer-mounted generator to be installed.

Please note: Backup generators for critical equipment are available on a very limited basis. Please contact Brandon Holden at Facilities Services if you need assistance.

What do you need to do to prepare for this outage?
Please make sure that all computers, printers, copiers and other electronic devices are turned off prior to Wednesday, July 10. If you have an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), also known as a battery back-up, please be sure to turn it off as well.

Employees scheduled to work when buildings are without power should consult with their supervisors regarding work schedules. For more information regarding work scheduling, please refer to the instructions regarding Interruptions of University Operations.

This notice is to remind you about a joint project led by the OSU Key Shop and the ID Center to update the building access control system and ensure that all students, faculty and staff obtain the Orange ID cards that were first made available in July 2019. A university-wide transition to the Orange ID card is necessary in order to ensure the best possible security for our facilities.

All OSU faculty, students and staff must have an Orange ID card by June 30, 2024, to ensure access to Corvallis campus buildings. Users who have not updated their cards will lose building access on July 1.

Please note card holders who received their current ID card AFTER July 2019 were issued an Orange ID at that time. No further action is necessary.

Who needs to update their card?

Many OSU community members obtained an Orange ID card when they were first made available five years ago. However, we know that a number of users are still carrying old OSU IDs. If your current ID card was issued prior to July 2019 and you have NOT updated to an Orange ID card since then, you will need to get a new card.

More information about this project, including images of the old and new ID cards, can be found on the Orange ID Card Update website.

Help your building occupants maintain access

The Key Shop and the ID Center are working to communicate this change to all affected card holders. Please forward this information to occupants in your building and other parties who might be impacted.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Key Shop.

Four city parking spaces will be removed on the north-east side of the intersection to accommodate a new pedestrian crossing island.

A full closure of the intersection is currently scheduled for July 22 though August 2. An updated Campus Notification will be sent in mid-July.
