As part of the Washington Way Improvement project, flaggers will be controlling traffic in all directions at the intersection of SW Washington Way and SW 26th St. starting on Monday, Nov. 18th and continuing through Wednesday, Dec. 4th.

In addition, the sidewalks on 26th St. north of Washington Way will be closed as follows:

11/18 – 11/19: a small section of the west sidewalk will be closed just north of the intersection. A detour will be available on the sidewalk bordering Student Legacy Park.

11/20 – 11/21: the east sidewalk will be closed between Dixon Recreation Center and Washington Way. A detour will be available along the walkway bordering the sand volleyball courts.

As part of the Collaborative Aerospace Research Center Renovation project, survey work will be conducted along SW 30th St. between Reser Stadium and the Nancy Squires Aerospace Research Center site on Monday, Nov. 18th and Wednesday, Nov. 20th.

The work will require single lane closures on SW 30th St. Flaggers will be present to present to direct traffic through the work zone and allow cars to safely enter and exit the parking lots. Sidewalks will remain open and flaggers will assist pedestrians as needed.

A vacuum truck will be excavating an area within the Jen-Hsun Huang & Lori Mills Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex construction site, on the east side of SW 26th St. Occupants in the surrounding buildings may notice an increase in construction noise through Thursday, November 14.

The domestic water will be shut down at Research Way Building November 6th, 2024, at 1:00 pm until November 8th, 2024, at 4:30 pm in order to facilitate emergency sewer line repairs. This will affect all domestic water building wide, including kitchens and restrooms. Portable restrooms and handwashing stations have been placed on site. Restrooms are also available across the street at the Coast Range Building.

Otis will be conducting routine elevator safety testing November 7th, 2024 – November 15th, 2024. Testing will take place in the buildings listed below and be completed between 7 am -5 pm. Each unit will be out of service for approximately 2-3 hours at a time. Signage will be posted on elevator doors and call buttons while testing is being conducted. For buildings with two or more elevators, only one elevator will be out of service at a time.

A crane will be working in the walkway area between the Agricultural and Life Sciences Building and Nash Hall starting Monday, November 4 through Tuesday, November 12. The crane will be lifting equipment onto the roof of the ALS Building. A section of SW Campus Way between Nash Hall and the ALS Building will be closed. The walkway area between the two buildings will be closed.

The south sidewalk in this section of Campus Way will be closed. The north sidewalk will remain open. The loading zone parking spaces outside of Nash Hall will be closed.

Both buildings will remain open during the crane activity. The west and south entrances to Nash Hall will be open. Signage on the east side of the ALS building will direct pedestrians through ALS to the east side entrance of Nash Hall.

Other possible impacts include noise near the work site.
