As part of the ALS Building Controls project, the fume hoods in the Agricultural and Life Sciences Building will be shut down starting Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28 to allow for exhaust system modifications. This shutdown will affect fume hoods on all floors of the building.

The air pressure system will be shut off, but heating and cooling will still be available in the building.  

Other possible impacts include noise near the work site.

As part of the ALS Controls Upgrade project, a crane will be working in the alley behind the Agricultural and Life Sciences building on Monday, June 24.

The alley will be closed to vehicle traffic. The ALS loading dock will be closed. The parking spaces located in the alley behind the Learning Innovation Center, Hovland Hall, Gilmore Hall and the Women’s Building will be closed. No vehicle access to the alley or the parking spaces will be permitted while the crane is working.

All entrances to the ALS building will remain open.

The sidewalk on the south side of the alley will remain open for pedestrians.

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, Kelley Engineering Center will be CLOSED on June 22 from 7:00 AM until 3:30 PMThe water main to the building is being modified for the Kelley District Utility Plant. The building will be locked and signs will be posted on exterior doors indicating that the building is closed.

The steam will be shut down in Sackett Hall, Austin Hall and Learning Innovation Center on June 18th estimated time for resupply is June 19th. Services will be shutdown to repair a steam line, this will affect all steam services, including heat & hot water building wide.

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, a section of the walkway between Kelley Engineering Center and Plageman Hall will be closed on Friday, June 21 to allow for tree removal work. The south entrance to Plageman Hall will be closed.

Other possible impacts include noise and dust near the work site.

As part of the Goss Baseball Hitting Building project, SW Washington Way will be closed between SW Benton Place and SW 17th St. starting Thursday, June 20 through Thursday, July 4. The sidewalk on the north side of Washington Way will also be closed in this area.  

The intersections at 17th St. and Benton Place will remain open for north-south vehicle traffic. Vehicles may use Benton Place or 17th St. to detour around the closure area.

Pedestrians traveling eastbound on Washington Way may use the multi-use path on the south side of the street. If using the north sidewalk on Washington Way, pedestrians may cross Washington Way at 17th St. and proceed east on the multi-use path. Pedestrians planning to travel north on Benton Place may take the multi-use path east, cross Washington Way at 15th St. and the proceed west along the north sidewalk to Benton Place.

Construction activity related to the Weatherford A-wing Remodel project will occasionally impact areas outside the building in the coming weeks. Expected impacts include intermittent closure of the walkway on west side of Weatherford Hall and partial closure of the bike parking area on the south side SW Intramural Lane, across the street from Weatherford. These closures are needed for demo waste removal and materials staging.

As part of the Jen-Hsun Huang and Lori Mills Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex project, the intersection of SW Campus Way and SW Memorial Place will be closed starting on Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28. The intersection will be closed to vehicle traffic in all directions during this time frame.

The north crosswalk at Campus Way and Memorial Place will be closed. The south crosswalk will remain open for pedestrians.

Memorial Place between Monroe Ave and Campus Way is already closed to vehicle traffic under a previous notification.

As part of the Bloss Hall Renovation project, a section of the Bloss Hall South parking lot will be closed starting Tuesday, June 18 through Friday, August 30. The impacted parking spaces are located on the north side of the parking lot. The sidewalk and walkway areas on the west and north sides of Bloss Hall will also be closed.
