Facilities Services will be performing annual load bank testing for the below listed building emergency/ stand-by generators.  Each test will take approximately 3 hours. There may be excessive noise and possible exhaust fume odors associated with testing.  Each generator will be refueled after testing.

Air handler #3 (AHU3) will be shut down in Magruder Hall on June 24th, 2024 between 7:00 am – 10:00 am to perform preventative maintenance on the unit. This should only affect the library and the southeast offices. Building occupants may notice warmer than normal air temperatures and reduced airflow during this time.

The air handlers will be shutdown in Magruder Hall on June 11 & 12, 2024 between 5:00 am – 10:30am for 45 minutes each to replace final filters and perform preventative maintenance on units. This will affect heat and cooling building wide and cause reduced airflow during this time.

An electrical shutdown will occur at Magruder Hall on Wednesday, December 27 from 6 A.M. to 10 A.M. The shutdown will impact the wet lab in Room 274 along with supporting HVAC and cold room equipment. The HVAC system and air flow in these areas will be affected during this shutdown.

What do you need to do to prepare for this outage? 

Please make sure that all computers, printers, copiers and other electronic devices are turned off prior to Wednesday, December 27. If you have an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), also known as a battery back-up, please be sure to turn it off as well. 

Employees scheduled to work when buildings are without power should consult with their supervisors regarding work schedules. For more information regarding work scheduling, please refer to the instructions regarding Interruptions of University Operations.

Scheduled: Annual Fire Rollup Door Testing

Effective Date(s):  December 18-20, 2023

An outside contractor will be performing testing on fire rollup doors December 18th-20th .  The testing is approximately ½ hour per door. The door will be closed for that time, and there may be some noise as the door closes and opens. Please see the list of impacted buildings below.
