Power will be shut down by Pacific Power in Gilbert Hall, Graf Hall and the Dearborn Motor Lab March 27, 2025, from 5:00 pm through March 28 at 5:00 am for the installation of new power poles and service along Monroe Avenue in support of the HCIC project. This will affect power building wide in Gilbert and Graf Halls and the Motor Lab area only in Dearborn. Gilbert and Graf will remain closed for the duration of the outage. Please remind building occupants to close fume hood sashes before leaving on Thursday, March 27th.

What do you need to do to prepare for this outage?

Please make sure that all computers, printers, copiers and other electronic devices are turned off prior to March 27th at 5pm. If you have an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), also known as a battery back-up, please be sure to turn it off as well. Please ensure that all fume hoods are closed before leaving the labs.

Facilities Services will be performing annual load bank testing for the below listed building emergency/ stand-by generators.  Each test will take approximately 3 hours. There may be excessive noise and possible exhaust fume odors associated with testing.  Each generator will be refueled after testing.

Scheduled: Fire Alarm & Sprinkler Testing

Effective Date(s): July 31st-August 4th, 2023

Convergint will be conducting annual fire alarm & sprinkler testing.  Testing will take place in the buildings listed below.  The testing will be brief and include both sounding of alarms and strobes. As part of the testing building occupants may notice occasional beeping coming from the fire panel and horns and strobe lights activating throughout the building.  Signage will be posted on exterior doors while testing is being conducted.

As part of the Rogers Hall fume hood replacement project, a crane will be placed in the Graf Hall parking lot to lift equipment onto the roof of Rogers Hall. The work is scheduled for Monday, March 13 from 6:30 – 9 a.m. Limited parking spaces will remain available.

As part of the Graf Hall Renovation project, a crane will be placed in the Graf Hall parking lot on Friday, Jan. 6th from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM. The crane will be located within the fenced construction area. This may disrupt traffic patterns at the north end of the parking lot.

Pacific Power will be decommissioning obsolete equipment located in Dearborn hall on Saturday, January 7th from 6 am-9 am. Power will be shut down to the following buildings while this work is being performed, Gilkey Hall, Gleeson Hall, Gilbert Addition, Dearborn Hall, Rogers Hall, Community Hall, and Milne Computer Center.
