The building air fans will be shut down one at a time to perform preventive maintenance and change air filters in Ag. Life & Sciences September 8, 2021 6:00 am – 11:00 am. Building occupants may notice slight pressure & air flow changes throughout the building.

The air filters are being changed in Linus Pauling air handler units August 23 – August 27, 2021 during the hours of 5:00 am – 11:00 am. During this time the air from the air handlers and supply fans may be reduced a small amount.

Update:  Annual steam shutdown has been extended due to asbestos contamination in a portion of the tunnel. All steam activity had to be delayed for the environmental cleanup contractor to remove and dispose of the asbestos in a safe manner. Restoration of steam distribution will begin on Monday June 21, 2021 at 6:00 am and it is expected to be fully restored by noon on Monday.

Effective Date(s): June 13, 8:00 pm- June 17, 2021 3:00 pm

Each year Facilities Services performs necessary maintenance on the university’s steam system, which requires shutting off the steam throughout campus, to complete maintenance services at the plant, throughout the steam tunnels and in each building.  This process affects hot water supply, heating, and all equipment that uses steam, campus wide.  The steam shutdown for 2021 will occur June 13th 8:00 pm – June 17th, 2021 3:00 pm.

The industrial hot & cold water will be shut down in Ag. Life Sciences Building June 23, 2021 from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm to repair several failed valves in the building. This will affect most of the labs in the building and any equipment supplied by industrial water. Restrooms should not be affected.

The fire sprinklers in Research Way Labs Building will be shut down June 9, 2021 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm while repairs are performed to the backflow prevention system.  Pull stations and smoke detectors will still be operational and so will horns/pulls.
